Fans of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End have been eagerly waiting for Season 2 since its announcement last September. While an official release date hasn’t been revealed, it’s expected to be at least a year away. For those who can’t wait to rejoin Frieren, Fern, and Stark on their journey, there’s exciting news—a brand-new novel is on the way!

This new novelization is written by Yui Tokiumi, the author behind the Blue Period novel adaptation. Unlike the previous Frieren prequel novel, which explored an original story, this book will be a direct adaptation of the manga. It will retell the events of the series in prose, starting from the conclusion of Himmel the Hero’s legendary mission to defeat the Demon King.

The official YouTube channel for Japanese brewers and distilling company Suntory has started streaming a new anime commercial for its gin brand "Sui." The protagonist character in the commercial titled "Sui to Utaeba" ("Singing with Sui") was designed by manga artist Tsubasa Yamaguchi , best known for her Blue Period manga series. The Dumpster Battle and The First Slam Dunk , according to Kogyo Tsushinsha . Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle , the first part of the Haikyu!! Final duology anime films, held a special one-day-only event titled "The Dumpster Battle Last Match" at the Toho Cinemas Hibiya theater in Tokyo on August 18, with the event was live-streamed in theaters across Japan. Tsubasa Yamaguchi, who graduated from the Tokyo University of Arts, is the first-class author of the manga “The Blue Period”. Starting in June 2017, Kodansha serialized the manga in Monthly Afternoon magazine, and eventually it was printed by Kodansha Comics and released in Fall 2020. After winning the 13th Manga Taisho award (the “Cartoon Grand Prize”) in March of 2020 and the 44th Annual Kodansha Manga Award in May of the same year, a seinen anime adaptation was released in Japan by Netflix. The series' script is written by Reiko Yoshida, and Ippei Inoue composed the soundtrack. The twelve episodes, produced in the studios of Seven Arcs and running from the 2nd of October until the 18th of December of 2021, had Koji Masunari as chief director and Katsuya Asano, who directed the anime at Seven Arcs, while Tomoyuki Shitaya designed the characters.

Tsubasa Yamaguchi’s arts-inspired coming-of-age manga Blue Period is one of the most popular titles in its group in recent years. The manga has been adapted into a successful anime series, which has yet to be renewed for a second season, and there is a live-action movie coming up later this year. The movie was announced just today in Japan, and Warner Bros. has confirmed that the movie will be released on August 9, 2024 in Japanese theaters. It is unknown whether the movie will have an international distribution or not.

On top of that, an official teaser trailer highlighting some of the scenes, as well as the actors was released.

Warner Bros. Japan announced on April 2, 2024, that Tsubasa Yamaguchi’s Blue Period manga will be getting a live-action film adaptation, with Gordon Maeda taking on the lead role. The film is scheduled to release on Aug 9, 2024.
