A victim of sexual abuse - who has suppressed her memories of her sexual abuse tries to come face-to-face the traumatic events of her past when she was groomed by an older swimming teammate who gained both her trust and that of her family.
I am better informed after watching this insightful doc by a fresh new filmmaker. For years I wondered how parents of kids who were groomed could possibly allow a pedophile into their lives but now I understand exactly how it happens.
Every parent should watch this doc.
Every parent should watch this doc.
One to raise awareness, what also with social media as it's such a similar process. And raising awareness with any sort of perpetrators. Understanding signs and the manipulation. A logical insight.
Highly recommend! Every parent should watch this documentary.

I gave this series 10 stars because this kind of grooming and preying on young teens happens and it damages lives. The more this is brought into the public eye, the better. The betrayal of trust and the secret-keeping are corrosive, and the younger the victim is, the worse the harm. It really is a crime - morally and legally. People may not realize the long-term damage that can result from these relationships, but I speak from experience to say that it runs deep and is long-lasting, and the road to healing is not easy (although doable in part). To come forward is an act of courage, and I applaud Gwen and the other victims who appeared in the film.
