Scottish actor Rory McCann, best known for playing the burly brute The Hound on HBO’s Game of Thrones, will replace late actor Ray Stevenson for a second season of Star Wars show Ahsoka, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Stevenson played the hulking former Jedi known as Baylan Skoll in the Disney+ series. He died after a brief illness in May 2023, three months before the series premiered. The actor was a fan favorite, thanks to his resonant voice, humor and roles in Punisher: War Zone, the Thor movies and TV’s Rome.

Ahsoka stars Rosario Dawson as another former Jedi, the titular Ahsoka Tano, who teams with a former apprentice in order to stop the evil Empire from reforming. Two obstacles in her path were Skoll and his apprentice, Shin Hati, played by Ivanna Sakhno.

It is unclear when the new season is to begin shooting or who will be directing.

The Motion Picture Sound Editors (Mpse) have announced the nominations for the 72nd Annual Mpse Golden Reel Awards, honoring outstanding achievement in sound editing, sound design, music editing, and foley artistry in film, television, and video games. While more casual moviegoers (and fans of “The Thrilling Adventure Hour” bits) can easily recognize the creative wizardry in physically producing sound effects via foley, every part of the sound process is crucial to making us feel the physical and emotional reality of the films and shows we watch.

Marvel Studios recently debuted the first trailer for upcoming Disney+ animated series, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, and some new promo art has now been shared online, giving us a first look at several of the show's supporting heroes and villains.

In addition to a Matt Murdock/Daredevil - who will be voiced by Charlie Cox - the art spotlights Doctor Octopus, Doctor Strange, Scorpion, another villain we assume to be a new take on Pyro, and two mysterious female characters. There's speculation that the one on the left is Screwball, but we're not sure who the other is supposed to be.

In addition, we get another look at Spidey in his classic red and blue costume, his initial homemade outfit, and the white Future Foundation-inspired costume which is reportedly known as the Oscorp suit.

Exactly one month before it premieres on Disney+, Marvel Animation has released the first full trailer and some new key art/promo images for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

The 10-episode animated series "follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming a hero, with a journey unlike we've ever seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots."

The teaser mostly focuses on Peter's school-life, but we do also get to see Spidey in action, as well as a first glimpse of the wall-crawling hero in his white Future Foundation-style suit, along with Norman Osborn/The Green Goblin (who will be voiced by Colman Domingo).

The cast list also confirms that Vincent D'Onofrio will voice Wilson Fisk (Charlie Cox's Daredevil was previously announced), and Agents of Atlas character Peal Pangan/Wave (voiced by Cathy Ang) will appear. It also looks like we can expect the villainous Screwball to show up.

Paramount+ today debuted the official trailer and key art for season three of the original animated series Transformers: EarthSpark, which follows a new generation of Transformers robots – the first to be born on Earth – and together with the humans who welcome them and care for them, they redefine what it means to be a family.

All eight episodes of the third season will premiere on Friday, October 25, exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S., and begin rolling out internationally on that date as well.
