Exclusive: Show Kasamatsu, one of the stars of Max’s acclaimed crime drama Tokyo Vice, has taken on new representatives at Brookside Artist Management and CAA.

Currently in its second season, Tokyo Vice follows Jake Adelstein (Ansel Elgort), a Western journalist working for a publication in Tokyo who takes on one of the city’s most powerful crime bosses. Also starring Ken Watanabe and Rachel Keller, the show executive produced by Michael Mann has Kasamatsu portraying Yakuza gang enforcer Akiro Sato.

Next up, the actor will be seen starring alongside Jacob Elordi in the TV adaptation of Richard Flanagan’s novel The Narrow Road to the Deep North, which Justin Kurzel is helming for Prime Video Australia.

Based on his fake trailer from the Grindhouse Double Feature (2007), Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving hit theaters last month, and it was surprise-released on PVOD at home yesterday.

The cast for the feature length slasher movie includes Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Jalen Thomas Brooks (“Walker”), Milo Manheim (Zombies), Nell Verlaque (“Big Shot”), Gina Gershon (“Chucky”), Tim Dillon and Rick Hoffman (Hostel).

Roth wrote the script with Jeff Rendell.

HBO Max has booked a return trip to Japan, with a Season 2 renewal for the crime drama Tokyo Vice.

Loosely inspired by American journalist Jake Adelstein’s non-fiction, first-hand account of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police beat, the series — filmed on location in Tokyo and which debuted in April — follows Adelstein’s (played by Ansel Elgort) daily descent into the neon-soaked underbelly of Tokyo in the late 1990s, “where nothing and no one is truly what or who they seem.”
