If you watched Soul and thoroughly enjoyed it even loved that film there is no reason to not watch this. Some people will over analyze it and either hate it or love it for their own pretentious reasoning. When this is really just a fun little adventure with 22 that pokes fun at her character growth before soul and a few good laughs. Just enjoy it and don't over analyze something that isn't supposed to be Citizen Kane.

Easy, simple, short. Everything a good story needs. I only needed Terry, he was my favorite character in Soul, I felt so identified with him. We need a short for Terry.

I have to first admit to not having seen "Soul" yet, so if that's integral to my understanding of this short Pixar film on Disney plus, then you're just going to have to bear that in mind. Taken in its own merit, I thought this was a decent and amusing, if perhaps slight, short.
22 (Tina Fey) does not see the appeal in jumping to Earth from the astral plain that she and the other souls currently inhabit. She encourages a small group of young souls to join her in her rebellion and though each is vocal in their support, the very mechanism of rebelling often provides them with the characteristic they need to move on.
I'm not convinced I'm going to be able to stretch this review out to my usual 300 or so words. Amusing but slight sums up the experience pretty completely. Aside from Tina Fey, who voices the main character - you have Richard Ayoade and Alice Braga who provide voices for Counselors, who are their to encourage the souls to move on and provide a commentary on 22's failures.
The art style is a cute mix of the classic Pixar character, blended with some esoteric graphics. It made me chuckle a couple of times but, as I say, it feels slight. Maybe once I've seen "Soul" it will take on a greater meaning.

An entertaining prequel short of the feature film, Soul. It was interesting seeing 22 prior to Joe Gardner's arrival and there's plenty of comedy moments. As usual, Disney and Pixar's animation is outstanding. I highly recommended this short.
This was insanely pointless. I know not much can be done with a short but at least use them to flesh out characters. This just rehashed what we already saw in the main movie?
I didn't even like the movie that much so I wasn't expecting to love this short. I don't hate it because it was so banal that I just felt I wasted time?

This is like a 5 min clip that's more like an outtake from the movie. It doesn't even have an ending.

This is a very good short, with a few funny, even if predictable, moments. The thing I have seen people complain is that it lacks character development or story, which I disagree because this short happens before 22 actually develops in Soul, and in this short we see why 22 believes that she shouldnt go to earth.
The animation is very good like always and the style of animation is the same as in Soul which I really enjoyed. And the humour is pretty good if you have seen Soul otherwise you wont even understand half of what is happening.

'22 vs. Earth (2021)' is a short film focusing on the exploits of 22 as she attempts to defy the natural order of 'the great before' and prevent her friends from discovering their passion and inevitably making their way to earth. It's not bad, but it feels redundant because the lead character doesn't really develop all that much and the flick's events, broadly speaking, were already covered in 'Soul (2020)'. It's essentially just a series of gags surrounding a single central premise, without a proper driving force or message behind it. It isn't especially funny or, even, all that engaging. However, it's entertaining enough to be worth a watch if you're a fan of the character. It's alright. 5/10.

This prequel to Soul is a small glimpse into the world of souls that 22 inhabited before arriving on Earth. It is a very fun and entertaining animated short film with a warm and quite soft visual. 22 is a pretty crazy character, ready to plot against Earth, but the result is a pretty hilarious failed plan. 22 and his henchmen make this little story quite fun and easy to enjoy. We must not also forget the participation of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails in this short film with a fairly soft score. 22 Vs. Earth is a fun short film that serves as a prologue to Soul. My final rating for this short film is a 9/10.

This film's cover looks cute so I picked it up on Disney Plus but honestly, it was disappointing.
Those cute characters were adorable but sometimes they came up with negative words and were impolite to earth. Maybe, it irony concept but I think that is not good for a family movie. But it runs only 9 min so it's ok.

A cute little short film that fans of "Soul" should enjoy. I don't think this short adds a lot more in terms of character depth and is much more kid-friendly than the feature it's based on, but I still think it is a fun way to spend a few minutes. Overall, it is charming and fun but doesn't add much to the already fascinating universe of "Soul."
