The Golden Bachelorette had its first finale on Wednesday, November 13th, 2024. There, Joan Vassos made her decision as to who she wanted to spend her life with and it was Chock Chapple. He ended up popping the question with a gorgeous Neil Lane ring and as transparent as Chock was this season, he had one big lie. So, what did he fib about? Keep reading for all of the details.
Chock Chapple Shares His Big Lie
From the moment that Chock Chapple and Joan Vassos went on their first solo date to Disneyland, it was clear there was chemistry. They clicked and she felt like a princess with him. Then, he learned that his mother had passed away and he abruptly left. This was devastating to Joan for more than one reason. First off, her own mom was ill so she could sympathize with what Chock was going through. Then,...

They join previously announced series regulars Maggie Q, Courtney Taylor, John Carroll Lynch, Michael Mosley, Rebecca Field, Victoria Moroles and Amy Hill.
The untitled series follows Detective Renée Ballard (Q), who is tasked with running the LAPD’s new cold case division — a poorly funded, all-volunteer unit with the largest caseload in the city. In 2022, pre-writers' strike, fans received the gift of a new type of primetime drama with a strong undercurrent of family dysfunction.
Fire Country burned through the competition, quickly outranking other shows as it breathed new life into a weekly lineup that had grown stale with remakes and ongoing shows that have continued with long-term success.
Many of the most successful series have spinoffs that expand their universe to include multiple locations, scenarios, and characters.
Series in the procedural and emergency response niche often do exceptionally well as spinoffs, like NCIS, One Chicago, and the Grey's Anatomy/Station 19 duo.
Given how well the Chicago universe did when it branched from Chicago Fire to Chicago Pd and then Chicago Med, it's no surprise that another popular fire series has inspired a spinoff.

NBC has given a series order to “The Hunting Party,” a high-concept crime procedural from JJ Bailey and Jake Coburn, with both serving as executive producers, writers and co-showrunners.
Created by Bailey, who also wrote the pilot script, “The Hunting Party” follows a small team of investigators who work together to track down and capture the most dangerous killers the country has ever seen, all of whom have just escaped from a top-secret prison that’s not supposed to exist.
Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, is the studio behind the series, which isn’t surprising as Bailey has an overall deal there while Coburn has a first-look deal.
The order for “The Hunting Party” comes as NBC has already ordered three other pilots for next season, including “Suits: LA,” an untitled Reba McEntire-led comedy and more recently, a pilot for “Grosse Pointe Garden Society” from Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs.

NBC is throwing a Hunting Party.
The network has handed out a series order for the high-concept procedural The Hunting Party, from creator JJ Bailey. The pickup for the drama comes more than a year after NBC opened up a writers room for the project that it describes as revolving around “a small team of investigators who are assembled to track down and capture the most dangerous killers our country has ever seen, all of whom have just escaped from a top-secret prison that’s not supposed to exist.”
Bailey (Echo) created Hunting Party and is attached to serve as co-showrunner alongside fellow writer and exec producer Jake Coburn (The Endgame). The drama hails from Universal Television, where Bailey is based with an overall deal and Coburn is set with a first-look pact.

The studio is Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group. Production company is Minnesota Logging Company. Casey Kyber is a non-writing EP.

Exclusive: Morena Baccarin (Deadpool franchise) is set to appear in an upcoming episode of CBS’ Fire Country, playing a sheriff character that could lead her own series. Baccarin will guest star in the Season 2 episode with an option to become a series regular in a potential spinoff series, Deadline has learned. Like the mothership series, the proposed offshoot would be produced by CBS Studios.
Fire Country stars Max Thieriot as a young convict seeking redemption and a shortened prison sentence by joining a prison release firefighting program in his rural Northern California hometown of Edgewater.
In the planted spinoff episode, which will air later in the season, Baccarin will play Mickey, a Sheriff’s Deputy for fifteen years who knows every corner of Edgewater … and every one of its inhabitants. This is her town and she’s fiercely protective of it.

“The Buccaneers” showrunner Katherine Jakeways had Nan St. George’s (Kristine Frøseth) “choice” in the love triangle at the end of Season 1 in mind from day one.
Frøseth thinks Nan brings out playfulness in both of her love interests —Guy Thwarte (Matthew Broome) and Theo (Guy Remmers). She also hinted that Guy brought out Nan’s old self before the big reveal that she was conceived out of wedlock.
In the finale of the Apple TV+ drama series, loosely based on Edith Wharton’s final, unfinished novel, Annabelle “Nan” St. George makes the ultimate sacrifice for her nonbiological sister Jinny (Imogen Waterhouse), who desperately needs to escape her abusive husband Lord Seadown (Barney Fishwick). Instead of running away with Guy, Nan marries Theo, Duke of Tintagel, so that Guy can take Jinny far away from Seadown.

Striking writers in New York made a bid on Monday to disrupt work on American Horror Story by picketing outside a production facility in Queens where the popular FX series known for its macabre plot lines and star-studded casts is filming season 12.
Members of the WGA East, joined by members of SAG and other supporters of the strike against film and television studios, said they began arriving at Silvercup Studios at 5am, about two hours before members of the stagehands union, Queens-based IATSE Local 52, who then refused to cross the picket line.

Ryan Michelle Bathé has been cast as the wife of Terry Crew’s cop character in CBS’ comedy pilot based on the “JumpStart” comic strip, a rep for the actress told TheWrap on Wednesday.
Her character, Marcy, is described as “a hard-working nurse who is naturally maternal and wise beyond her years. She and Joe share a close bond and are supportive of one another even when they don’t agree. The two have a good life in their middle-class Philly neighborhood with their two teen kids — meeting all challenges, and enjoying their share of goofy times as well.”
The logline for the show: “Joe and Marcy are young, hip, urban parents with old school values who are willing to sacrifice for their kids and have some laughs while doing it!”

Bathé’s Marcy is a hard-working nurse who is naturally maternal and wise beyond her years. She and Joe share a close bond and are supportive of one another even when they don’t agree. The two have a good life in their middle-class Philly neighborhood with their two teen kids — meeting all challenges, and enjoying their share of goofy times as well.

The Vampire Diaries aired its final season in 2017, but its legacy has continued through equally popular shows like The Originals and Legacies. Legacies ran for four seasons before its cancelation in 2022 and paid homage to shows in the Tvd universe before it in many ways.
One of the tribute episodes was a Tvd musical, and Kaylee Bryant played Elena Gilbert. Like her musical character’s Tvd actor, Bryant pulled a Nina Dobrev and left the show early. So, why did Bryant leave Legacies?

No one would argue that broadcast TV is booming in 2022, but on a show by show basis, things don’t look quite as bleak as they did a year ago.
Whereas in 2020-21, only one network series — The CW’s All American — grew both its total audience and adults 18-49 rating, several shows managed the feat in the 2021-22 season, according to Nielsen’s final seven-day ratings for the season. The gainers were led by the top two shows on TV, NBC’s Sunday Night Football (18 million viewers, 5.0 rating in 18-49) and Fox’s Thursday Night Football (15.4 million, 4.3), which posted decent improvements in both measures.
The Monday edition of American Idol (6.99 million viewers, 1.0 in 18-49) and several other sports franchises, including ABC’s Saturday college football and NBA showcases, also had gains in both viewers and the key ad demographic. NBC’s Law...

April showers gave way to May flowers, and April meetings among network executives led to the cancellations and renewals of existing broadcast series. Of course, there were plenty of nail-biter decisions made in May regarding CBS’, NBC’s, Fox’s, ABC’s, and The CW’s slate.
Find all of the cancels and renewals below. We should note here that not every cancelled TV show goes away on bad terms: Among the 20-something or so series we won’t be seeing again in the 2022-23 season, there were a few preplanned decisions — like the ending of NBC’s “This Is Us” and ABC’s “Black-ish” — that got mixed in.
You’ll notice we only focused on scripted series here. Sans a handful of perennial reality standouts like CBS’ “Survivor,” which has been officially renewed for Season 43, unscripted programming kind of does its own thing on its own schedule. Yeah, the...

With the news of Legacies' cancellation, there have been many questions about whether fans will get the closure they deserve.
Just days after The CW announced the stunning news that The Vampire Diaries and The Originals spinoff had been canceled after four seasons, we have an exciting development.
Series creator Julie Plec took to social media to pay tribute to the series and revealed that fans are in for a satisfying conclusion.
"To my beloved Legacies — after the Parkland shootings, I decided I wanted to tell a story about the young heroes who would save us from ourselves," Plec said in a tweet.
"Good kids living on the fringe who ultimately were the heroes of the whole story."
“To @brettwmatthews the captain, fearless leader, brilliantly funny voice of (not to mention the heart and soul of) the show. The best work husband around and someone I am proud to call my friend.

NBC is making some big changes as we head into the fall season.
The network unveiled its fall schedule Monday morning.
We'll start with the bad news.
The Blacklist, which has been bounced around the schedule of late, has missed out on a slot on the schedule.
As a result, it will be back at midseason.
The buzzy Night Court sequel has also been held for midseason.
Mondays in the fall will be powered by The Voice.
The reality series scaled back to one cycle per year, so fans have been waiting for fresh episodes since December.
Leading out of The Voice is the highly-anticipated Quantum Leap.
Tuesday will show great stability, with The Voice starting things off at 8 p.m.
La Brea returns for its second season at 9 p.m., taking over from This Is Us, which wraps its six-season run later this month.
The fifth -- and final...

Julie Plec is raising a social media glass to her team, colleagues, friends and fans who were affected by The CW’s decision to cancel her shows Legacies and Roswell, and NBC’s ruling that The Endgame should be ended.
Initially, Plec tweeted a short statement on the cancellations.“It’s the Red Wedding at Wbtv/CW today,” she tweeted at first. “Much more to say, but not today. Loads of gratitude coming for fans and cast and crew in future tweets. But today, we mourn.”
After a proper mourning period, she came back to Twitter with a long string of thank-yous.
“A toast thread to the fallen and the fans who have to say goodbye,” Plec tweeted on Friday to begin her series of salutes.
“To The Endgame, a show centered around two brilliant women played by two brilliant women, surrounded by an army of great men and women,...

Julie Plec has probably had better days. Updated with comments about The CW.
The venerable showrunner has suffered three cancellations of shows that she exec produces: Legacies and Roswell, New Mexico on The CW and The Endgame on NBC.
“It’s the Red Wedding at Wbtv/CW today,” she tweeted. “Much more to say, but not today. Loads of gratitude coming for fans and cast and crew in future tweets. But today, we mourn.”
The Originals spinoff Legacies, which comes from Warner Bros. TV and CBS Studios, was canceled after four seasons. Similarly, Roswell, New Mexico will end with its fourth season. Finally, bank heist drama The Endgame, won’t return for a second season.
Plec still has plenty of shows left on the board; she has created Vampire Academy for Peacock and has an adaptation of Dead Day at the NBCU streamer as well as political series The Girls on the Bus...
