This well written Christmas movie will take you on an emotional ride. The squabbling family theme is not new but the leading women cast takes it in the right direction. Interesting characters in a storyline that spans a year. Some of the fashion design will make you take note. Don't miss the "not part of the story" pre credit sequence! And to top it off, a very nice soundtrack. Listen for Sister Sledge, Mary J Blige, Cece Peniston, among others. Holiday movies should be required viewing in times like these.
Great film. Finally a film that do not showcase stereotypes. A great upper class black family running a business is refreshing to see. Many will hate on this film cause of pure jealously because how it's showcasing people of color, but that's the world we live in. Give the film a chance and you'll enjoy it.

I was not expecting to like this movie. I thought it would be one of those cheesy holiday movies but it wasn't. Richard Lawson is just as handsome as ever. He gets better with age. He can make any movie better just by showing up on the screen. He doesn't have to say a word. Vanessa Bell Calloway is so underrated as an actress. She nailed her part as being the classy wife & mother. Even when things got hard she handled it with grace and dignity. I loved the Naomi character. She was needed in this movie. The way she handled the situation in her husband's office was pure class. As for the youngest daughter, Noel. I started off the movie not liking her and and I ended the movie still not liking her. Their cousin was awesome. The cousin and the lawyer brought the comic relief.
