Parts of the script are based on a short story that Radu wrote when he was 17. He directed the film when he was 23.
With the exception of a few shots and one entire scene, the rest of the film is composed only of static shots, suggesting a very traditional style of filmmaking.
Originally scheduled for release in local markets in May 2006. Some of the trailers on the Internet reflect this incorrect release date.
The train station in the film is the historic Martisco train station.
John's collectible car is an Alfa Romeo Spider, manufactured in the 1980s.
