If you've ever wondered what would happen if a sitcom wife finally snapped on her obnoxious, bumbling husband, Annie Murphy is happy to show you. In AMC's new metadrama, the Emmy-winning Schitt's Creek actress plays Allison - the exasperated wife of Kevin McRoberts - who is tired of playing the role of the perfectly meek housewife. Playing off the tried-and-true formula used by beloved shows like Kevin Can Wait, the series switches between the old-school multicam format to the more dramatic single-camera lens to show the contrast between Allison's sitcom and real-life views.
But it's not a show within a show - a scene where Allison cuts her hand in the trailer highlights how everything is happening in real time. Viewers are just seeing the Massachusetts housewife through two different lenses. There's the brightly colored, laugh-tracked view when Kevin is his "loveable" self and subjecting his wife and their life to various humiliations and,...

Jules is struggling with many emotions.
Euphoria Season 1 Episode 10 sent the beloved character to a therapist, and it offered a much-needed deep-dive into her mind.
Let's just say the six months at the new school, her relationship with Rue, and being tormented by Nate completely changed her outlook on life. Still, there were more reasons behind her decision to skip town on Euphoria Season 1 Episode 8.
What worked really well was how the blanks were filled in behind some of her actions throughout the first eight episodes.
I don't know whether her mother's return and relapse ahead of Halloween was always the plan or if it was added in an attempt to make these Covid-produced episodes more shocking, but it successfully illustrated the pain and suffering Jules is going through.
Now that we know her mother was in recovery, it's much easier to see why she needed to step away from Rue.

Exclusive: Producer Mike Medavoy’s Phoenix Pictures has picked up the rights to the international best-selling book series F*ck Feelings for television. The irreverent, comedic, and at times profane self-help book, written by father-daughter writing duo Michael and Sarah Bennett, is followed up by the spiritual sequel F*ck Love.
Billed as “One Shrink’s Advice for Managing All Life’s Impossible Problems”, core philosophy of F*ck Feelings espouses less dream-actualization and more realistic goals and feasible results. The elder Bennett is a Harvard-educated psychiatrist and an American Psychiatric Association distinguished fellow. His daughter Sarah wrote sketch comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York.
The TV series will follow a family of mental health professionals acclimating to the ravages of public institutions after a cushy career in private practice.
Producing along with Medavoy is Phoenix Pictures’ Michael Lee Peterson, and Berta Treitl of Renaissance Literary and Talent.

It goes without saying that, for just about everyone, 2020 was a no-good, very-bad year. But for a handful of artists, it was, numbers-wise, actually a very good year indeed – the year they rose from obscurity to stardom, all without leaving their homes.
But who had the best year? We can get a good idea by looking at who had the biggest growth in audio streams from January through November compared to 2019, the same methodology that powers Rolling Stone’s monthly Breakthrough 25 Chart. These are some of the artists who saw...

F is for Family Season 4 is coming soon to Netflix.
The animated sitcom, set in the U.S. suburbs in the 1970s, brandishes adult-themes that render it not quite fit for primetime network television. Yet, its driving force has been its central character, irascible family man and Korean War veteran, Frank Murphy, a La-z-Boy-riding bell-bottom-era bygone generational mouthpiece for the PC-pulverizing rants of comedian Bill Burr; a character who could be described as an animated amalgam of Archie Bunker and Al Bundy.
Burr co-created F is for Family with Michael Price, a writer and co-executive producer on Fox’s The Simpsons and Lego Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles and Lego Star Wars: Droid Tales. Along with the creative duo, the show’s array of executive producers consists of Vince Vaughn, Peter Billingsley, Katie O’Connell, Elisa Todd Ellis, Sidonie Dumas and Christophe Riandee.

Hell Den―a new animated series from Shout! Studios, DrinkTV, and Dr. God―is a six-part series that follows a young boy named Andrew, the fifth horseman of the apocalypse named Kenneth, a mutant cyborg named Bet-c, an alien named Fleek, and a giant in the midst of an apocalypse. Hell Den is now available to stream on DrinkTV.
"DrinkTV, in conjunction with Shout! Studios and Dr. God, is announcing a new show airing exclusively on the streaming platform. The first trailer has been released for the upcoming post-apocalyptic animated comedy series Hell Den. The series is said to be a mix of shows that include Robot Chicken, Beavis and Butthead, and Mystery Science Theater 3000.
The show centers around a 12-year-old boy named Andrew who is one of the few left in a post-uber-apocalypse world and Andrew’s house has electricity, a Vcr, and a full liquor cabinet. Because of this, his place becomes home base for a variety of weird and wild characters in this crazy world.
Hell Den mixes original animation and re-dubbed cartoons to create a blend of social satire, musical parody, and absurdist humor. The series will pay homage to classic old cartoon and will feature original commentary. It actually looks like a fun series that I’d enjoy watching, I just don’t want to sign up for another streaming service to watch it.

Fact-based drama Richard Jewell is Clint Eastwood’s next news-story-inspired directorial effort.
Clint Eastwood may be pushing 90 years old (he turned 89 on May 31), but he’s still got plenty of creative fuel in his proverbial tank; a notion supported by his next directorial effort, Richard Jewell (formerly The Ballad of Richard Jewell), which will focus on the security guard wrongfully accused of attempting to bomb a town square near the 1996 Olympic Games.
Indeed, the onscreen legend and Oscar-winning director, Eastwood, occupied the director’s chair for the Disney/Fox fact-based drama. The film, based on an article of the same name from Vanity Fair, had Eastwood working off a script by Billy Ray, who worked on action-horror film Overlord, Tom Hanks-headlined Captain Phillips, film franchise launcher The Hunger Games and served as writer and credited creator of (now-canceled) Amazon series The Last Tycoon.

David Fincher and “Deadpool” director Tim Miller are teaming up to create an anthology of animated shorts for Netflix, titled “Love, Death & Robots.”
The series will be a collection of 18 animated short stories in genres including science fiction, horror and comedy. Fincher and Miller will executive produce along with Jennifer Miller and Josh Donen. Each episode will be between 5 and 15 minutes long and feature both traditional 2D and photo-real 3D CGI animation.

Former Paramount Television president Amy Powell has denied making racially insensitive comments that led to her being fired from the studio today after a 14-year run.
Paramount Pictures chairman Jim Gianopulos told studio staffers in a memo that Powell was terminated Thursday after complaints from other employees sparked an investigation into her remarks. Powell’s remarks were made last week in what the studio described as “a professional setting.”

In a year in which one man's Twitter account became the world's barometer of international crisis, it can be difficult to find things upon which we can all agree. However, here's one truth that seems irrefutable across party lines: Laura Dern makes everything better. Whether it's her broad comedy in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, her refashioning of an iconic character in Twin Peaks: The Return, or her award-winning work on Big Little Lies, her year was as varied as it was memorable. And that's not even including the fact that she...

David Ayer knows a thing or two about getting extremely negative reviews after the critical bashing “Suicide Squad” received, so it’s no wonder he’s choosing to remain optimistic in the face of an equally-grueling reaction to his latest movie, the Netflix tentpole “Bright.” After IndieWire’s David Ehrlich gave the movie an “F” review, calling it the single worst movie of 2017, Ayer responded positively on Twitter.

“This is going on my fridge. Highest compliment is a strong reaction either way,” Ayer wrote about the highly critical review. “This is a fucking epic review. It’s a big fun movie…Every movie is a labor of love for me. I’ve never chased the audience, and I know my work can be polarizing. I’ve lived a crazy [life] and I guess my movies reflect that.”

Dammit Johannes Roberts, why did you have to disappoint so? I absolutely Adore his 2010 film F (aka The Expelled) and – even though its a Noel Clarke film - Storage 24 wasn’t that bad either. So hearing that Roberts had the chance to helm a studio movie, a horror at that, set in India with its vast religious culture and strange chaotic lifestyle, And produced by Alexandre Aja… It’s safe to say I was excited for The Other Side of the Door. Even more so after Sarah Wayne Callies was cast in the lead – I’m a huge fan of hers, ever since the Prison Break days. So what went wrong?

The other teachers are played by Emma Cleasby (Dog Soldiers) Ruth Gemmell (Fever Pitch), Juliet Aubrey (Constant Gardener, Primeval), Roxanne Mckee (Hollyoaks)."...
