The lead actress, Tonya Kay, was actively treating breast cancer in isolation during the pandemic while she shot the role of Lucy, a woman experiencing brain cancer in isolation during the pandemic.
The Journal of Lucy was filmed entirely in isolation with the lead actress setting up her shots and lighting alone at home in January, 2021 during the global COVID-19 pandemic.
