This would have been amazing as a one off somewhere in between other shows. There's a lot of potential, but there's just no backstory or any way for us to connect with a character and story this far along with nothing.
Granted, I'm not into the comic books, but I'm a big fan of the MCU and comic book movies in general, and other than the idea of the tesseract, there's nothing I know about it.
Yea, I'll probably look some characters and details up now, but that's just out of spite and ADHD.
I'd like to see more of this story, but not in the middle of what should realistically be more of a comfort show, especially when it's released at this time of year. Maybe that's just me though.
So, the art was beautiful, the story was intriguing, and I'd like to see more, but I wish it wasn't in this anthology.

So, this was good. Not a bad episode. It was a neat introduction to a character and I respect the attention to detail and language in this episode. The art style was awesome to look at! And I loved how different it was from the other episodes of what if...?
The issue here was, this was way too rushed. This should have been a movie and instead they tried to do world and character building in less than 30 min. The powers of the character felt unearned, which is especially important when there is a whole village with these same powers and you want to establish this character as the most important one. Also at the fault of the run time, she immediately becomes powerful. She's like a better version of Captain Marvel. She's not annoying, but still doesn't feel human. Once again, they should've killed off her brother in the beginning to create a more emotional resonance with character, and that would have gave her a more satisfying arc. This season is keeping it safe with not going to dark. Next time stick to a what if with a character we know, and then take them to an unexpected place so we can see something new. Like Strange Supreme episode, T'Challa Star Lord, Captain Carter, and even Tony Stark when he crashed into Sakar. Those episodes changed and added on to those characters, dare I say creating new ones in the process.
But overall enjoyable episode. Can't wait to see how these episodes tie together.

This episode is a banger . Art style was soo perfect.
I wish marvel to coninue to explore new characters just like KAHHORI . This is what we called a perfect female protagonist lead story . We want these type of story telling from MARVEL STUDIOS and we'll expecting the same in the future. The new lake world feels like we're in a new world similar to AVATAR. And I think we all could agree that spain captian is annoying . I wish this episode would release as a stand alone move( i know they won't). And we also want the episode director or the season runner to continue their work in future. Thanks a lot.

Yeah, That was a total Suprise To me !
I Loved the Episode and wasnt really prepared for it, it took me by Suprise and i really , really liked it (:
I am really Exited for the Character and if we will see her and her World in Live-Action-Form in the Future. It would be amazing if the Upcoming Echo-MCU-Series will have Connections to it !
The only thing that bugged me were the Subtitles, a few would be ok but not the whole Episode, i hope in the Future there won´t be a lot of subtitles for the Character and her World
Amazing, took me by suprise and thats what i really love
Greetings from Germany.

This is the only episode that was half interesting. It wasn't full of childish scripts, heroes who didn't take their assignment serious and a story that actually had a soul! I don't understand how they could have missed it completely from the first season.
What can I say, maybe it was meant for children, but I am sure even kids wont understand anything in this series except for the episode. I just couldn't.
No serious risks, no deaths, no injuries, no commitments. It's like watching Tom and Jerry, only thing is, Tom and Jerry was actually funny because it was expected to be that.
Can we just go back to the way things where before all these multiverse madness?!

That MARVEL is creating new characters based on indigenous peoples from North America is so heartwarming. Native American culture should be celebrated by all. Being of indigenous descent I am so glad to see Native Americans making an impact on popular culture. The story was one of courage in the face of adversity, apathy, and seemingly insurmountable obstacles. That MARVEL collaborated with indigenous groups and cultural institutions in the making of this episode is a good thing to see. That MARVEL hired indigenous actors and used their language to create this was refreshing. Yes people, you will have to read the subtitles. Now let's see a major motion picture based on these characters.

Extensive care went into researching and correctly representing the Mohawk Native American culture of what is now mostly New York in the 15th century.
The problem: Marvel and by default Disney did not take the same level of care by hiding behind a " It's a What IF" episode in a series as an excuse for painting the Spanish as the villains when it should've been either the English ( French or Dutch ). There was no need to set the time around the late 15th century. The level of disrespect portraying the Queen of Spain Isabella when she did the exact opposite of how's she's portrayed in the episode- the disrespect is equal in showing Queen Elizabeth I of England in the same fashion. The Spanish build and formed a culture and civilization by including and mixing with natives - the English did it by dislodging and exterminating.

Yeah where's the video game for this story? Very good story over all and new character. Would also welcome this character back in some multiverse option. I like the what if stories of events we know but this was very cool too.
Really Like the lead character and setting. Art style as well.
This season overall has been very good. I liked last season but I feel like with some of those obvious what if stories done they had to get creative this year and it worked.
For season 3 would love to see them go back to some earlier time periods. Silver age stuff. Other characters we've heard about in the movies but not seen as much.

With the underwhelming Marvel Echo series. Marvel also dipped their toes on Indigenous tribes in this What If... story.
In this alternate reality. The Tesseract lands in pre colonial Americas where it fell to the bottom of the lake. The lake was known for its special properties. After so many people disappeared, it became known as the Forbidden Lake, now deemed lost.
Only Kahhori a native Mohawk stumbles upon it with her brother when feeling the Spanish Conquistadors. The Spanish are looking for the Fountain of Youth, the fabled lake imbued with Tesseract magic.
With Kahhori transported to the magical Sky World. She harness her new powers and manages to return home. Deemed impossible by those enjoying immortality in Sky World. Kahhori is determined to save her people from the conquerors.
Thes story introduces a new character. It is in the Mohawk language and Spanish so you need subtitles unless you speak those languages.
The animation was very good here and the story had a touch of Avatar in it.

This episode was briliant. I never thought modern Disney can put something like that bringing me nostalgia of classic Disney cartoon. It gave me a lot of Pocahonthas vibes. It makes me happy that Disney truly tried to do something new.
I wish majority of modern Disney tried to do stuff like this instead of wasting their money into countless of lazy live action remakes where only good was Jungle Book, Maleficent, Alladin and Beauty & Beast.
It didn't feel like Marvel cartoon but classic cartoon. I know it's superhero company but glad to see Marvel pulling stuff like this.
Love Kahorii btw. She is such a great character and actually creative, enjoyable and kinda cool unlike boring cast of entire Eternals movie, Captain Marvel, Captain Carter, Rambeau or Hawkeye.
Hyped to see another episode with her again.

Kahhori is by far my favorite character. I love her story. I love her powers and her abilities. And the I love the setting in her story. Her family is so very nice. And she finally got her first villain in Marvel Cinematic Universe. Please pretty please make a movie or a spinoff TV show about her what a cool character. I rate this episode the best. Very good job. Well done. I am very impressed of this episode. I can not wait to see what's next in Kahhori's future in the Marvel's universe. The best one yet I can't wait for the next episode of What If Tomorrow #whatifthebestshowever. Marvel heck.

Another change of pace here for "What If". Again, we're not exactly answering a specific "What If" change but exploring a whole different storyline with a new character, that continues the relationship between Marvel and Indigenous tribes that began with "Echo".
Kahhori (Devery Jacobs) is fleeing from the Conquistadors when she is shot and falls into an underground lake. The Lake is imbued with the power of the Tesseract, which was destroyed in an earlier than expected Ragnarök event on Asgard. Kahhori is reunited with other members of her tribe, long since deemed to have disappeared, who enjoy enhanced powers now but are unable to return home. She, though, is more determined than they to get back as she knows the peril that her village faces.
With the exception of a line of dialogue at the end, which again points towards the potential future of the series, and the narration from The Watcher - this episode is entirely subtitled. The story is more traditionally Marvel than many other have been and are essentially an origin story for this new character. It's never fully explained where they are transported to by the Tesseract power or why it seems to choose some people to receive its gifts but not others, nor exactly what the powers are beyond a series of enhancements.
This is fine, and again the animation looks good. It feels like the way of introducing this character that the wider series needs to reach a conclusion perhaps. I guess we'll see how it pans out over the rest of this run.

This episode was way too short. Kahhori was awesome! I've never read the Marvel comics so it wasn't until after the episode that I discovered she is a new hero. We need more new content like this Marvel. This was such a great episode they should make a TV series with her in it either animated or live action.
One thing I don't understand though is how the space stone gives such a wide range of powers. Captain Marvel gained her powers from it and so did Kahhori but the powers imbued from the stone appear to give a different set of powers to different people?
The fact almost all the lines in this episode are in Spanish or whatever language Kahhori spoke was a very nice touch.

It was ok the animation was great and I enjoyed some of the story but overall nothing happened to the character she just got new abilities and stuck with exactly the same motivation all the way through, didn't mind the villain but did find it annoying how they made them:
A. Spanish which is just wrong historically,
And B. Utterly irredeemable
But by far the most frustrating thing in the story is the enormous difference in power levels I mean once she returned there was basically no other outcome that could have occurred other than what happened she was far to powerful to be matched against her villain
Overall the story was predictable and at times annoying but it was interesting to watch and the final moments were fairly decent although it was again frustrating to see the main character constantly take the best course of action and be awarded praise for doing so rather than having a more difficult time where they present more realistic attributes than just constantly being the best.

I loved everything about the episode, it no longer felt like watching marvel , but some well thought after standalone animation.
And going back to that past has that weird cozy touch.
In delving into the intricacies of this particular episode, one cannot help but marvel at the seamless blend of creativity and storytelling prowess that transformed the viewing experience into something far beyond the typical Marvel fare. The episode, with its meticulously crafted animation, transcended the boundaries of conventional superhero narratives, offering a refreshing and unique standalone tale that captivated audiences from start to finish.
From the opening scenes, it was evident that this was not just another episode; it was a cinematic masterpiece in the realm of animation. The visual aesthetics were nothing short of stunning, with each frame meticulously designed to evoke emotions and convey a narrative that felt both familiar and entirely fresh. The animators' attention to detail was unparalleled, and every frame seemed to be a work of art in its own right.

The best thing of the whole episode was the fact the characters spoke with their native language. I loved the narative what if the natives would have the edge over the european conquerors. What if the natives would have conquered europe. And finally marvel disney created a New interesting character.. love to see more of her. And i think the whole what if series is one of the best things disney have created after the end game movie... i guess we will see more storylines of the what if series in the upcoming movies. Hope to see the zombie storyline in the near future or strange supreme. I certainly hope marvel disney have learned from their previous mistakes.
I was not very happy with Season 2 of this show, but this episode was great. It is excellent that they use the original languages. I do not know the mohawk language, but the Spanish was good if a little stiff, perhaps because according to IMDB the main Spanish speakers of the episode were actors from Latin America and not from Spain (shame, is it really so difficult to find some cast from Spain?). Then, I think the setting was refreshing, original and the Sky World looks amazing. I was going to complain about the conquistadores searching the Fountain of Youth in Mohawk territory, which I do not think is accurate, but then I thought that in the universe of the episode there were probably legends about the Forbidden Lake that some Spaniards could have heard. So, they oriented their search accordingly. So no complains! I actually want to see more of Kahhori.
