Here is a movie that gets right to it! As a longtime songwriter, I have learned a phrase that works
" don't bore us get to the chorus"
As a long time movie fanatic, I assure you, "basic psych" put you on the edge of your seat early, and keeps you there.
Great acting, great dialogue, and multiple plots, along with a "cool" twist makes this movie a must see.
Director Melissa Martin, and writer Jim Tucker certainly worked well together to bring Jim 's script alive on the big screen. There are wonderful camera angles, and shots, and the lightness and darkness of the film works perfectly with a storyline, which is based around a mix of happiness, anger, distress, and suspense.
This film was shot in Pittsburgh using numerous locations which made it great fun to watch for a long time "Burgh" dweller.
Writer Jim Tucker brings us a great plot, characters, and dialog and delivers a thought provoking, suspenseful, thriller, that I enjoyed very much.
There is a great cast in this film, all delivering powerful and believable parts. I was drawn in, on board and buying it immediately.
Again, I consider myself a bit of a movie connoisseur. Movies that I "love" I can watch many many times over changing my visual gaze from foreground to background inside of each scene
I enjoy thinking outside the box of where the writer might have been trying to take us.
I also enjoy noticing strange camera angles, interesting shots, cuts and edits.
This film was full of all of the above
My only complaint and possible shortness as far as this review goes is I've only seen the movie once
Again, as a reviewer with a voracious appetite for movies and the art of "movie making" I could watch this over and over again........so could you.
I give it two thumbs up, and the standing ovation!!
Now, " when can I see it again?"
