Just when you thought it was safe to travel to New England, Rock and Shock announces Tara Reid is among the newest crop of guests attending the 11th annual event. We all know wherever Tara goes, a sharknado can't be far behind.

In anticipation for the October 17-19 event in Worcester, Ma, Rock and Shock organizers have been busy over the past couple of weeks announcing the guest list a few names at a time in true cliffhanger fashion, keeping fans of the event glued to social media to catch the next name.

In addition to Reid, Rock and Shock has announced a slew of other guests, including festival favorites Kane Hodder, Bill Moseley, Sid Haig, and William Forsythe. Also, Andrew Divoff, Tom Savini, Lynn Lowry, John Russo, Kristina Klebe, Justin Beahm, and Jack Bennett have been added as well.

Never ones to disappoint, Rock and Shock has just announced the second wave of guests who will be appearing at this year's horror/metal convention. In this round of celebs some new faces are named as well as some Rock and Shock favorites.

Among the newest guests announced are Victoria Price, daughter of the iconic Vincent Price, who will be hosting a special presentation on her father's life. WWE Hall of Famer Rowdy Roddy Piper will be making his triumphant return to Worecester. They'll be joined by Dee Wallace, Jake Busey, Tiffany Shepis, Sarah French, and Joe Knetter.

This line-up joins an already alluring celebrity list that includes John Ratzenberger, Jeffrey Combs, and Brad Dourif among others.

One of the Northeast's biggest horror festivals is ready to rise again as Rock and Shock is scheduled for October 12-14 at the Dcu Center and Palladium in Worcester, Mass. We've got a full list of the first guests officially announced.

What better way to start off the new year than with a new entry in the ever-growing Sasquatchploitation genre? The latest stomping DVD shelves this January is the grindhouse-styled (complete with fake film damage) Shriek of the Sasqautch.

Synopsis:

It's 1979, and Julie (Scarlet Salem, "Strip Club Slasher") and Nick (Donny Versiga) are on a road trip which puts them unwittingly on a collision course with Bigfoot. Will either of them survive to learn the secret of the Sasquatch? Pseudo-retro drive-in fun, complete with film damage.

Steve Sessions (Cremains) directed this mixture of Sasquatchploitation and fauxsploition.

Is fauxsploitation already a term out there used to describe these movies that are shot to look like films of a bygone exploitation cinema era yet, or did I just coin it?

Bayview/Retromedia will unleash the blood-curdling Shriek of the Sasquatch onto DVD January 10th.

In what is going to be a series of announcements, the "Mile High Horror Film Festival" is pleased to reveal the first of its celebrity judges.

Dan Myrick, writer/director of seminal ground breaking, The Blair Witch Project will be returning as a judge for the feature film category. Mr. Myrick has gone on to a rewarding career including numerous writing, directing and producing credits (including The Blair Witch Project 2, Rest Stop, Otis, Solstice, The Objective).

Tim Tebow is trying to bring a winning environment back to Denver, but even if the Broncos can't get their shit together again this year and there is no Super Bowl on the horizon, the Mile High City does have another pretty interesting event scheduled that might make all the fans of pigskin violence forget their gridiron woes for a while.

For the second consecutive year the Starz Film Center in Denver will be the home for The Mile High Horror Film Festival. (Note: This is not a series of videos depicting sexual exploits in airplane bathrooms gone awry but an actual festival of great horror films!) This year the event takes place from October 7-9.

Joe Knetter is not only a writer in the indie horror genre but he's a published author, a stunt bot and does a little acting on the side.  He has several projects in the works including one werewolf film we've been following  for quite some time. Knetter is also one funny guy and you'll find out as you check out my latest "Versus". Consider this an early Christmas present peeps, read on!

Brian  S- First off Joe, how'd you get into writing, specifically for the indie horror genre.

Joe Knetter- It was on a cocaine binge deep in jungle's of Brazil.  I was covered in honey and waging war against this tribe of fairies called the Dundleberts.  Those crazy little bastard loved nothing more than to pull out your pubic hairs while you slept and sprinkle them on your upper lip.  Just thinking of them now makes me want...

 

Rachel Grubb is not only a strikingly beautiful  actress and scream queen but she has the business sense to go along with it that makes her the total package (if you ask me). She acts, writes, directs, models and even co-owns her own production company.  She's made a name for herself in the independent horror film industry and has even ventured into the comic book world now, a girl after my own black heart! Brian  S- Hi Rachel, first off how'd you get into acting?

 

Rachel Grubb- It started as something I was doing for fun.  I was taking several different classes at the time, and I was having some harmless fun.  I got some very positive feedback from my teachers, so I decided to start auditioning for some local films.

Joel D. Wynkoop is one of the hardest working actors in the indie horror world, having appeared in over 50 films. He is the John Carradine of horror films. Towards the beginning of the decade, he experienced a resurgence in film work and racked up one credit after another. The 80's and 90's saw him working infrequently, though one of his more well known films is Truth or Dare: Screaming For Sanity. I had the chance to ask him a few questions about his career. She also models, she even hangs out at the conventions when she can and is a really grounded and cool girl, oh and really pretty; which you're fixing to find out! Dennis Willman is an artist's artist. The guys talent is unbelievable, just ask the guys and girls who have asked out one of his pieces of art, Ginger-Stein! Dennis does commission work, movie posters, DVD art, an art series called PlayZom (check this out), comics, he also does logo design work and art for events. Dennis is also involved in something very close to my undead heart, he is involved with Comic Book Divas and Jeff Hughes and the upcoming series "Behind the Mask" which features the likenesses of many of our favorite Scream Queens and horror film stars taking on a superhero/ villain kind of role. Indie filmmaker Jason Stephenson dropped us a line and few exclusive pics (see ’em below) from Strip Club Slasher, the latest feature from his Not for the Squeamish Productions. Stephenson, whose credits include Off The Beaten Path and Doomed To Consume, is directing this flick from a script by horror author Joe Knetter.

“We’ve been filming pretty much every weekend for the past two months,” Stephenson tells us, “and production is finally starting to wind down. This past weekend was the final big shoot; we now only need to get a handful of pickup shots, then make a teaser trailer, and then editing the feature will commence.”
