Jun Jiu Ling

I didn't skip one scene. The man to man fights scenes were straight outta Compton. I was a bit shocked at how real they were. The 2 main leads were believable to the end. Even the antagonist was near and dear to my heart. He loved her soooo much but she resolutely denied him very time. It was like she was beating him with a giant sledge hammer. Costumes and sets were crazy cool. The top knot holders should be on aliexpress I'll buy several. The leads acted I mean really acted. Jin Han was like Brando. I took off work and binged this drama. Yes I work remote but I couldn't do both. Watch have some fun.

I love strong women leading roles and this one is one of the best ones I have seen, and very consistent throughout the whole series. The male lead is actually supporting her and never crippling her, overshadowing her or just rescuing her. This has happened in several dramas before, like The Long Ballad or Who Rules The World, where the female lead starts being super strong and independent and the more we watch the more she becomes the typical submissive female lead they love in the very patriarchal asian societies.

Ever since I watched Parallel World I got enamored of Jin Han and his acting and I found this one. His acting as main lead is great here and I love how versatile this role is for him, going from silly and clownish to very dramatic and assertive. I really enjoyed his performance. His chemistry with Peng Xiao Ran as the female lead is great and I truly enjoyed the bromance trio with his brothers.

Although sometimes the main plot wasn't very realistic/logical it was very interesting and gripping and the script was good. Still, the drama is at least 15 episodes too long and some of the subplots too dragging, repetitive and felt underwhelming at times.

There was also a lack of likeable characters in this drama, the majority of them are just too superficial and shallow for you to form any kind of connection.

Overall, This drama was enjoyable and entertaining for the most part. Great main characters, with a superb strong and smart female lead and great fighting choreography/action scenes although a bit too long and dragging.

As with many comments by others, this is an underrated series. I stumbled into it as I am into smart badass heroines after watching The Double and this series delivers satisfyingly. I think it is produced not with a high budget as it lacks the grandeur in terms of costumes and cinematography and fighting scenes. But it has good conversations, comedy and a great plot. It is not as compelling as many other series but it is interesting as you follow our heroine's journey to revenge. She has 4 men in love with her (1 of whom is a villain). There's much contention over the web as who makes a better ML amongst the other 3 good guys. I do think that the chosen Ml is the most suitable - he may appear arrogant and flawed but he is loyal, brave, funny and fights well. He is always there to protect Fl and they have good chemistry. The series is a bit long in my view - maybe could shorten by 5 or 8 episodes.

I must say that this was a great tv show and binged worthy. I did not skip one episode and I completed 40 episode is less than 2 weeks. This film is so great that it will make you lose sleep because it was perfect from start to finish. (The first 20 mins I almost giving up on it) When the characters developed, oh my goodness, one of favorites C-drama all time.

Perfect acting from the actress with strong and powerful female lead and great supporting role from the male actor. There was a complete story with little to no confusion. The entire cast did excellent, well casted show.

I honestly would have skipped this if it wasn't for noonadragon's review, so thank you for that.

This TV show won't be a let down and I am so glad I watched it. It was well balanced from start to the end. P. S. The last couple of episodes were amazing and what a great ending to a great film, well done everyone!
