Kaithi was one really grounded film where the emotions worked extremely well . Bholaa on the other hand is a highly masala filled version of Kaithi with emotions not working.
If you have seen Kaithi , you will realise, Dilli was no superhuman that made his journey even more interesting. Bholaa on the other hand is presented as a near John wick like superhuman who literally can't be touched or hurt anyway. That's where the soul of the original is lost.
Anyways we know story of Bholaa is that one kind of video game where you are given a mission and you encounter multiple villains and boss fights on the way until you reach the final destination. What Ajay Devgn had done well is to incorporate some more adrenaline pumping action sequences which is different from the original source material while keeping some same from the original which includes the famous machine gun climax. The new action sequences are enjoyable and keep you hooked. Some feel jarring but most are exciting.
Some hand to hand fight sequences are just Brutal . The trishool fight sequence was really exciting yet brutal to witness. It seems Devgn focused more on action than emotions .
Why is the film in 3D is beyond my understanding. Max shows at my place where 3D or 4d. This is a pure 2D film forcibly converted to 3D for no reason.
Performances. Before I come to Ajay , big shout out to Deepak dobriyal . My god what a performance!!! Remember how a Riteish pulled off a villainish role in Ek Villian despite carrying the comedy actor tag? Deepak carries the same tag but pulls off this daring villian role effortlessly. He's just terrific. Then ofc it's Ajay who plays Bholaa pretty well . However he can't pull of the tandoori chicken scene as perfectly as Dilli's biryani scene in kaithi . Tabu is also good so is Sanjay Mishra who has a massive role in the story. Vineet Singh should have given more scope his intro made him look a monster but then the source material didn't allow makers to use him . Gajraj is wasted.
Negatives- screenplay issue. Many abrupt scene changes. Sometimes very inconsistent. A rushed climax and a cameo that isn't that menacing enough to set it up for next part (Remember the menacing cameo of Surya as Rolex which set it up brilliantly for his part ?) . An unnecessary bad item song is there called Paan Dukaniya which sounds bad and was not even needed in the film.
Overall, an enjoyable masala film which lacks emotions and the power to push the film into its next part .

Bholaa even with its shortcomings is good and watchable if you haven't or don't watch original Kaithi but once you watch the original you feel definitely find faults in it.
A Hindi movie without any song which remains with you after the movie is hard to be successful though we have exceptions but there should be something. Many action sequences are good but many other are overrated.
Hindi movies should stop making remakes of south Indian films instead spend on writers and originality of the movie. Tabu looks good in her character and replacing a male lead character of original with female one is a good choice.

Ajay is great director even though this is remake it has given new treatement the action is better than kaithi the emotions are less but overall its great remake
the cinematography and editing is top notch the bgm by ravi basur is also great.
This is one for every action movie lovers.
The movie gets crazier and crazier it is gripping the emotions work as well.
Ajay is very good as actor but his director that shines tabu is very good but the Villains are best thing about the movie Loved it.
Its a MASS audience film for sure.
It has Story, Action, bhaari bharkam dialgues and emotions at the end and yes... There is one CAMEO after film ends...which assures the second part.

Doesn't respect the sensibilities of the audience. Wholly dependent on bad CG and what the director/production team thought is an age old story. A kaithi spoof movie would've been better done. Ajay Devgn should either never direct again if he had full creative control, if he was dependent on the production team for everything except the action, he failed then too because of the amateurish action blocks or the entire production team should be banished from the movie industry forever.
Switching the police officer to a female initially made sense but when fell short as soon as they gave her an age old sob story, just doesn't cut it.

Bholaa is a reimagined and trailblazing sequel of Kaithi which tries to overdo the theatrics in order to cater the mass audiences. The screenplay, even if it follows the original doesn't elevate during the film thus felt meatless and undercooked. The film definitely has grand, stylized action set pieces, patchy but commendable VFX and adequate emotional quotient which will be appreciated by the masses of single screen. Ajay Devgn's singular performance and striking direction deserves respect but the film never really comes close to Kaithi's raw intensity. Overall, a great family entertaining film if you had skipped the original.
How does it fare as a remake?
Is it worthy of my time?
Will I enjoy it?
I'm willing to bet that the majority of you who are reading this review are searching for similar information, and the answers to your questions will vary greatly depending upon whether or not you have seen the original! If you haven't, this may still work, but I don't believe it will be of much use to those who have.
Why am I saying that? Well, I have already seen and adored 'Kaithi' and the story it intended to tell, but despite having the same narrative, 'Bholaa' turned out to be a major letdown.
Even though I do appreciate Devgn's intention to make some changes to the source material, unfortunately, none of those changes seemed to have a beneficial impact; on the contrary, they destroyed the inherent essence of the tale. The writing here lacked soul and depth, the same qualities that made the original work so well.
The flashbacks failed to make an impression, the inserted humour felt forced, and the action and their choreography, despite bringing some freshness to the table, appeared exaggerated, they were too loud and lousy for my taste.
'Kaithi' was far superior in almost every aspect.

What to say!!! A complete package of action filled storyline, it gives you an idea of Bholaa's backstory but it was just a glimpse, nothing can be predicted, maybe we get to know more about it in it's sequel, camera work is fantastic, direction is awesome, storyline's dope!!! It could have got 10 stars easily but it had some flaws which could have had been solved if the movie could have been delayed by a month or two, the flaw was with the action scenes where sometimes it looked a little fake, but if you are there just to enjoy the movie and keeping the physics aside, you are gonna enjoy it alot, a must watch for action movie lovers, i know it's a remake of a famous south movie 'Kaithi', it does look similar but alot of the things have been added and changed and moreover Ajay Devgan is upto building his own universe with Bholaa, so looking forward to it with high expectations, and especially the post credit scene gave me chills!!!! It might be a spoiler if i tell you the name of the person, but that was totally unpredictable that the main villain or the 'big goon' is ........, Sorry, can't tell you the actor, you should watch it man!!!!

Different storyline but horrible screenplay and worst of all the cheap vfx they used. I mean what was it? A cheap video game made by school students or what?
Screenplay was dragged like anything, movie could've been done in 45 minutes but they dragged it for almost 2 n half hours.
Action scenes were literally inspired by South Indian movies but they use way better vfx. This one felt like intentionally done cheaper to make fun of audiences. Body count am sure in hundreds and all of them were killed by an injured middle age man.
Dialogues were very very cheesy. Felt like bunch of summer students wrote them. Maximum 4 star for this product.

The movie was fantastic. The film's action takes place mostly over the course of a single night. The story advances quickly from establishing a drug crime to including a diverse group of characters in the investigation, and then to accelerating the pace until the crime is solved. The story has genuine humour and heart, and the action sequences are startlingly vicious and enjoyable. Despite the fact that the film's editing, cinematography, soundtrack, and background score are all top-notch and perfectly complement the story, I can't help but wonder whether a sequel is in the works. Highly recommended for everyone.
Movies like these are ussually intended for the masses but they released this movie in imax and 3d formats which are for the classes. The movie did ok. I watched this movie in 3d the action was good in terms of Bollywood but won't apply to classes. Some sequences feel over the top. I feel devgan mixed up acting and direction he should focus on one. The songs are ok some give goosebumps at times. The movies story is ok not portrayed in a entertaining way. In my opinion. They left half the story a mystery which dumbs down the movie. When you are making a movie don't focus on sequels but this movie does which I didint prefer. I feel they kind of wasted tabu she wasn't utilized correctly. Overall average mass entertainment watch for the action. Remake of kaithi.

I am huge fan of Ajay devgan and Bollywood so such projects really hurts.
Even if this movie would have been a frame to frame copy of original it would have been a lot better.
Whole plot was totally destroyed in the name of improvisation.
Ajay devgns character is shown as a god in the movie, starting action scene, police vehicles are being flung in to air by a truck despite being hurt and hanging out of the police scorpio tabu perfectly manages to hold ray ban intact on her face.
Gajraj rao trying to be a south Indian was no where near in fact it was embarrassing.
Massive talent Deepak Dobriyal was wasted in this movie.
Casting done for this movie was very bad, most of the actors despite being power house of talent could not do much justice to their role.
I feel this movie does grave injustice to original cult "kaithi".
If I were to say something good about this movie it's "tabu" and "sanjay mishra" only.
Original was a gripping movie, here not even a single scene which matches or is even near to the original "kaithi".
I will watch kaithi 10 times more but will not dare to see bholaa again.
I am not against remakes only thing is dont ruin it.

The movie "bhola" is an intense action thriller about a man who is released from jail after serving time for a crime he did not commit. The main character, played by bhola, is a father who has never seen his daughter's face due to his imprisonment. He is determined to meet her and start a new life, but his plans are interrupted when he becomes embroiled in a dangerous mission to save a group of police officers from a powerful drug lord.
Throughout the film, the main character faces numerous challenges and obstacles that test his strength, courage, and determination. He uses his intelligence and street smarts to outsmart his enemies and stay alive.
The movie is a thrilling and action-packed ride, with a gripping storyline and well-executed action sequences. Ajay Devgan delivers a strong performance as the lead character, and the supporting cast also does a great job in bringing their characters to life.
Overall, "bhola" is a must-watch for fans of action thrillers and anyone who enjoys a well-crafted and entertaining film.

A quick fix commercial movie. Once again this movie proves that the coordination of multiple talents when lacking can spoil a movie.
For now the movie banks on the fervour of the general action genre but lacks much in many departments. Ajay Devgn shows his acting brilliance in parts and the villain "Ashwathama" could be the bad guy talent the movies need. Tabus performance was under powered.
The dialogues just didn't come across as wow, leaving nothing to remember. Prod quality wise the fight sequences are crisp and some some funny Those who want too watch any action movie, you will like most of it, if you are looking storyline and depth then is avoidable.

Bholaa review :
Not a frame by frame remake of Lokesh Kanagaraj's Kaithi (2019), Bholaa rests completely on its high octane action and Ajay- Tabu chemistry to make you forgive its wafer thin plot. Producer-director Ajay Devgn dominates each and every frame but this cannot be called his finest performance. Not his fault as the main focus is on the 'maar dhaad' sequences which make for most of the two and half hours of its run time.
To his credit, the fight choreography is unique and mind boggling. I particularly freaked out on the bikers' gang on a rampage as well as Devgn's handiwork with the trident. Crash boom bang!! The climactic action is reminiscent of the recent KGF Chapter 2 (2022) police station sequence. Overall, the action jackson Devgn rocks once again!!
On the flipside, the plot is almost non existent. A prisoner Bholaa (Devgn) is set free after serving his term and is immediately requested by a lady cop (Tabu) to drive a truck full of her unconscious colleagues to the nearby hospital. The cops' drinks were spiked by a dangerous gang (Deepak Dobriyal and co.) to get even for nabbing their crores worth of contraband.
The entire film takes place in one night where this gang keeps attacking the truck driven by Devgn to get hold of these cops. One action piece after another follows with the emotional quotient provided in form of Bholaa's kid daughter who he yearns to meet at the earliest. There is Bholaa's backstory as well but it is never completed probably keeping a sequel in mind..
Of the cast, Ajay's intensity is intact though the film requires him to emote less and kick more. Tabu is assuredly competent as the cop Diana Joseph who is a nemesis for the gangsters. They call her Daayan, haha!! Deepak Dobriyal is impressive in a meaty villainous role. Gajraj Rao is effective as ever but why has he been filmed in perennial closeup!!! The gorgeous Amala Paul leaves her mark in a cameo.
Aseem Bajaj's cinematography is first rate. The 3D effects are sparse and you can easily book a 2D ticket if you wish to go easy on your pocket. The sizzling hot item number featuring Raai Laxmi will appeal to the masses but again, why those frequent cuts to Dobriyal's telephonic conversations in between!!
On the whole, Bholaa is 'paisa vasool' even with its share of flaws. Action movie buffs will simply love it. Those who have seen the original Kaithi will also not mind this adaptation!!

What do you NOT do when you have a prewritten, precreated movie, 100 crores of budget, and brilliant actors?
'You don't SPOIL it!'
But this is exactly what this movie does!
And background music literally killed my ears. I mean, who plays an emotional track (some Radha song near intermission) during action? We literally thought that someone has erroneously placed it there.
Action sequences were fake and unbearable.
Acting sirf Ashwathama waale bande ki sahi thi.
Ajay Devgn ka grand aura fell flat because all his actions were ridiculous.
Please stop ruining south Indian movies and your money. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Bholaa finishes the job successfully. Thanks to Ajay Devgan's direction, we have an extraordinary MASS ENTERTAINER, full of exciting action sequences and profound human drama. I like seeing Bhola because Ajay Devgn and Tabu provide such raw performances and deliver such amazing direction. The director often cut from an intense to a comedic segment in the middle of the same scene. The work that was put in by everyone was outstanding, and the music was fantastic. There will be no unnecessary flashbacks or romantic interludes. An terrific premise and execution throughout make for a thrilling action thriller.

Passable remake...
Missing the originality in making, effortless way of writing and presentation...
Entire movie is made on a desi Indian style of taking!!
Very precise cuts in the screenplay and occurrence of events makes the narration flat and boring, failed at generating tension and holding the audience's intensity... Overly exaggerating action sequences, made on a huge scale which weren't really necessary for the plot... Though, few sequences are well made in terms of execution!!
Unnecessary god level character establishment & portrayal for the protagonist, and foreshadowing forceful elevations are exasperating... Tabu's characterisation is well written with an emotional backstory!!
Incomplete development of flashback episode is unhelpful... BGM is good, poor production values and Ajay devgn's unique way of direction wasn't capable enough this time to set up the backdrop factors for Bholaa which differs it from Kaithi Lead for the upcoming parts in the end is fairly good, could possibly be a big opener for another cinematic universe!!

*BHOLAA (Film Review) -*
Very bad and completely avoidable. All this film has is darkness, boredom and only 3 scene sequences. Story has no zeal where in one man wants to meet his daughter and in the end they meet as expected. Film stars all talented actors like Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Deepak Dobriyal, Sanjay Mishra, Gajraj Rao, Kiran Kiran Kumar and Amala Paul; but none of them has anything special to do.
Majorly film has just 3 locations; Old mension like Police Station, Never ending Road and Temple without walls with Shiva's big statue. And in an all with just 3 story tracks where in Truck runs on a road, Goons attack on Police Station and climax fighting at that temple. Moreover the pity is; depicted actions and clashes are just because Police have seized crores of cocaine from those goons. Makers couldn't even think of any strong base behind shown actions and fights.
Amla Paul's 2 minutes have no dialogues, Gajraj Rao just sits on the chair throughout, Sanjay Mishra is merely there to get trapped inside Police Station, Kiran Kumar has 1 ineffective scene, AjayD and Tabu have mindless actions to perform and they are on never-ending journey by road. Only Deepak Dobariyal is noticeable and makes sense in the film. I didn't like this film and you too please avoid. Grabs 1 / 5 (🌟) from me.
*What I Liked Most? -* Nothing! Still just to write then Item Song, Deepak Dobariyal's part and that small little girl.
*P. S. -* Only AjayD and SanjayM have changed clothes once. Rest all are in same from start to end. They don't have budget for clothes and locations; and they have planned a sequel of this boredom! 😜

I went to watch Bhola after watching the trailer expecting it to have a lot of new type of action and frankly the movie does live upto the expectation I had. Long years back Ajay Devgun had made an appearance in a Dharma Production movie Kaal. His body language has the same undertone.
The story of the movie is simple and straightforward. But the performances, action, cinematography make it a master piece. The pacing of the movie is very apt. There is never a dull moment.
The story of Bhola is set in one fateful night, where chance makes Bhola meet a damsel in distress played by Tabu. To save the life of some police officers Ajay gets on to the ride with Tabu. What happens next forms the whole movie. There is a father and daughter angle to the movie and a dark secret of Bhola's past which will be dived in Part 2 of the movie.
Speaking of performances, Ajay Devgan is first rate. Though he has minimum dialogues he lets his body language and physique to much of the work. Tabu is dependable as usual. She slips into the character with at most comfort. Deepak Dobriyal as the antagonist is exciting to watch. He bring in a new element to the villainous category. Rest of the actors are used to move the story line forward.
The music is just right for the tone of the movie and so is the sound design. Action stunts are completely new and have not been seen in any Bollywood or Hollywood movie so far. Full marks to the team for this.
So this weekend enjoy Bhola with your family.

The film's storyline was innovative, while it strictly stuck to its track. Visuals (and the entire dark night theme) were definitely a treat to the eyes. Special praises to the truck-bike action sequence and the action with the Trishul. The direction and cinematography were top-notch (yet again, Ajay Devgn proves his vision and direction are exemplary). Casting of the villains was well done, with impressive performances by all of them (especially the MADNESS Deepak Dobriyal has in his character!!!). The movie can be penalized for the bad VFX and certain cringe elements here and there; music could definitely have been better. Personally also felt that there was scope for better BGM. Can watch if you're a fan of cinematography, visuals and action sequences.

Ajay Devgn goes all n out in this movie. What a performance by him. From acting to action level scenes all are praise worthy. Specially when you are the main lead in the film as well as you are directing and managing things are too difficult. In both of the sections Ajay Devgn shines all n out. Simple story but the execution is top notch. 1st half is superb but 2nd feels mediocre as the villain side was not developed in the second half at all. Performance wise all are good and carry their roles perfectly. Action sequences are different in this film and unique as compare to other Bollywood action biggies which is the big plus point of this film. All n all action fans don't miss this it's a worth 1 time watch film for action and it's fast screenplay sequences.

We are still waiting for a genuine remake of a Tamil movie with all its essential elements preserved, from Bollywood, that still a dream.
Movies with mass appeal exist in Tollywood too, but Kaithi is not one of them. It is decent to its core. Every time the build up given to Bholaa was reminding me Santhanam's Dikkiloona movie and laughing on the ground.
CG, Cinematography, Dialogs action, Screen play nothing standard, but overdone.
Dili's character and his background was reviled beautifully in Kaithi, here it is completely misunderstood. Arjundass is another key pillar for Kaithi, he was terrifying with this small body and base voice.
This movie, yet again, has been disrespected by Bollywood. Another Furniture broken.
