Aay khuku aay, directed by Souvik Kundo under the banner of Grassroot Entertainment is a tale of a father and daughter who comes from not a very economically stable household. Starring Ditipriya Roy as Shatabdi Mondal "Buri" and Prosenjit Chatterjee in a dual role as himself and "Buri's" father Nirmal da.
Positives -
Story and Screenplay : The story is not out of the box but definitely emotional and entertaining. Its simplicity is extremely soothing. Coming to the screenplay, its very smooth and is neither slow nor fast rather its of the perfect type. The first half is a joyride with full of heart warming scenes whereas the second half is a bit emotional and hard hitting.
Acting : Kudos to all the actors associated with the project! From leads to supporting actors everyone has done justice to the job they've been given. Prosenjit is flawless and effortless in playing both the roles. One of his finest performances. Ditipriya on the other hand is highly impressive! She is a shining star and radiates throughout the film. Rahul who plays "Sanjoy" is fine as well! He carries the character with ease.
Direction : Sauvik must get credit for the spectacular job he has done. The film doesn't deviates anywhere and focuses in one direction that is perfection! Sauvik manages to make sure there is no place for any technical issues. Hats off!
Cinematography : The film offers us some beautiful visuals. All these visuals are a proof of the cinematographer's deep knowledge of the nature and how to capture it in the righteous way possible! The village setting is beautifully captured! Very impressive!
Negative-
Under cooked Suspense : There is very little room for suspense in the second half maybe because you can somewhat predict what might happen though that doesn't disappoints because the film is successful in keeping us all entertained!
So overall, its a great watch!
