The first scene was the last one to shoot, due to the complexity needed to pull off the entire sequence. It is comprised of 7 different shots stitched together in post to give the idea of an unbroken 10-minute take.
There are 163 edits in the entire movie, for an average shot length of 33.2 seconds. The longest shot in the movie (the first) lasts for 10 minutes and 22 seconds. The shortest is 15 frames long.
Most scenes are without any CGI, even the very complex ones: everything was carefully choreographed, even the many flares and fireworks.
Around 80% of the movie was shot with an IMAX camera. It was the last one available when shooting started (there are only around 50 in the world), so they couldn't afford it to break.
To prepare the choreography for the long shots, the cast and crew rehearsed for a month and a half before shooting.
