Once I read up on the "real" man behind the main lead of the show it makes a little more sense but it needs a better identity. It's too adult for kids, yet too childish for adults. It tries to clumsily throw in facts about obscure animals (which I can't tell if they're real or not) while the characters find themselves in precarious situations in each of the short 15 min episodes. I want to like it, it's just not there yet. 5.5/10.

This is the second time I will attempt to review this, since the first review was denied (99% of my reviews are denied or deleted if they make it through). So, I can't actually say all the various types of woke programming interspersed throughout this series. But, it is alot. Just know that. You wont see on here the actual reason this show has a 5 star rating. People will likely be confused by the reviews that did make it.
Other than that it is pretty funny. The characters get into some zany and dangerous animal encounters, similar to a Crocodile Hunter type. That does bring up one thing I disliked about the show though. There seems to be no consequences, at all, for the dangerous things they do, often being mauled viciously by animals, and then being totally fine afterwards. They out fight lions, out run every type of animal, out swim crocodiles, etc... All the while claiming '"If you need a gun out here, you don't belong out here." Of course not, if there are no dangers whatsoever to actually worry about.
Another issue I have with the show is that it really seems like a kids show, but it has tons of adult sexual humor. I can tolerate or even enjoy that type of humor. It's just confusing because it really comes across as a kids educational show. So, that's suspicious.
Anyways, it's tolerable, for a one time view. The more you watch it though, the more the woke programming sticks out. Actually, it is pretty intolerable.

They are very clearly trying to be educational while also being funny. It just wasn't funny. I've watched a few episodes, all without a single grin.
I Was also frustrated with the forced in political correctness undertones on a certain episode.
Only reason I gave it some stars is because it is educational and I did learn a thing or two about some animals. Which I suppose is better.
They probably should of made it for kids.

This show made the mistake of starting out with the worst episode. I felt no need to continue, but my animal-loving girlfriend enjoyed it so we watched a few more. As the show continues, it gets more enjoyable for sure. The characters are actually pretty likable and there's still plenty of funny jokes left amongst quite a few misses. I liked the chaotic pace of the show, constantly changing scenery, and the animal facts make it just a tiny bit educational. The artstyle and voice work is very decent, making this a fun watch in my book.

This is well produced Adult cartoon but if it wasn't for the language blood and some gross sex stuff would really be for kids. It wasn't that funny and the jokes were pretty weak Take out the violence and sex and this would be a good cartoon on nickelodeon but this really is another Netflix cartoon that didnt work well. Im guessing this will be the only season.
A great and humorous show, just unfortunately thrown on the market at a bad time.
It's not even advertised, other comments are right, it's quickly forgotten, not because of its quality but rather because Netflix doesn't care about it.
A series in the shadow of another series spurred on by the name Alex Hirsch.
Nothing against Inside Job, I love that show, I just wish one of them would have been launched at a different time. :/

What is this? Not very funny- to me atleast. Didn't chuckle once. The animation is fine but where are the jokes, marry? A nerdy guy that hates nature combined with an underestimated female and a reckless lead. Yeah nobody has ever done that constellation...
Update I just saw the director is also directing Jimmy Kimmel.... explains everything.

I laugh at everything so im not good at critiquing humour but the animal fact side of this show is very entertaining, another review said its too childish for adults but i love childish things so i guess im the target audience LOL.

This is among some of the worst things I've ever seen.
I've watched Bojack Horseman, Family guy, Final Space, American dad, Rick and Morty, Inside Job etc... I love them all.
But this is just nonsense. Cannot understand how they claim its for comedy show for adult.
It's very childish and there are basically no jokes or anything fun that happens.
It's like the writers was trying to be quirky and funny, but like an old dad, completely fails and is just awkward
1 of 10 from me.

This show had me laughing so hard every episode is so well written. The whole cast was funny and gave life to the show. I hope to see Danice Cabanela in more Netflix shows in The future she is extremely funny in the show!

As a one time field zoologist, I can say that this definitely has some relatable moments...the actually accurate zoological facts inserted are fun, too. Sadly, I feel that it probably does not have the storyline potential to see more than one season, and it will probably appeal to a less than large audience.

Adventure Beasts is somewhat watchable, but fails because it can't decide what it is. Is it a kids cartoon that has needless violence and language? Or an adult cartoon that is so poorly made it seems juvenile and childish? We many never know.
Also the whole "don't save me" bit from the crazy Uncle is stupid, and the fact that he is totally passive about the several assistants of his who have been killed working with him is in very bad taste. Like neither one of those parts of the show is funny or interesting in away way. It was just... stupid 4/10.

I really wanted to like this, but it's just not funny, the story is not for adults (to many pee and poo jokes in between the ops I hurt myself ones) and the only good part - the informative stuff about wildlife - just gets lost. Made it all the way to the beginning of ep02 and than I called it quits.
Very simple and easy to follow. Has a lot of true, interesting facts about animals. A few adult oriented jokes, definitely not a show for kids. A great way to pass the time.

Netflix seems to have the knack or just bad taste to keep putting these shows out for consumption. Between the bad graphics and week story, this is something that will soon be forgotten after viewing!

The show takes an episode or two for you to get into it. While the characters are stereotypical it is the plot peppered throughout with facts that actually makes the show interesting. After point, you get more vested into the factual situations than the actual jokes or the overall plot for each episode.

I completely fail to see, how is this supposed to be aimed at adults? If that is what they were trying then oh my how hard did they fail.
Every episode is basicly the same. There is no comedy or humor found anywhere in this show.

There wasn't an original thought in writing or producing the most boring cartoon I have ever seen. I wouldn't even give it a second chance with episode two. I won't even continue the review
Straight garbage.
Straight garbage.

The concept of adult educational animation intrigued me. The style gave me Gravity Falls vibes, so I'm thinking maybe the comedy's written toward teens but with tongue-in-cheek jokes for the adults.
Boy was I wrong. The comedy's more along the line of Bojack Horseman with a mix of naive charm and raunchy jokes. But what I liked most of all was actually the educational part of it - it feels like the tour guide removed the vanilla fluff and was like "I'm gonna level with you, some of this stuff is kinda dirty" but I love the honesty of it all.
Great performances from all the actors especially Danice Cabanela - always great to see/hear actors of color without their identity being used as a plot device.

So I did find this show funny but not to funny. Entertaining but not extremely entertaining. The characters are kind of memorable but mostly just the main character. The plot is fun, but they need to start doing things with it. So it is mostly a mixed bag, but I would see a second season if they made one.

Its very reminiscence of nickelodeon's 'The Wild Thornberrys'. Nothing much on the animation style as it was okay for me and the sound scores/tracks were mediocre. I do appreciate introducing the voice casts of bonnie and uncle B on the outro/credit scene.
The visuals though for me it was too extreme and unnecessary especially the violence & bleeding scenes. The voice castings were awful for all the characters and definitely doesnt suit the tone setup of the animation, and definitely not compelling enough for the characters. In terms of the characterisation both Uncle B and Bonnie are okay individually but not together - i cant see any chemistry between them tbh. Meanwhile, i do felt a great chemistry between them in their real life counterparts (just not in the animation). Dietrich was okay but unnecessary.
For me, it felt too informative as theyre trying to cramp up all the facts and science of many animals in every episodes of 15 minutes runtime. Just too much to absorb at one time, sucking out all the enjoyment. It worse when it comes to comedy as i felt the humor was being pushed forcefully onto us, hence i didnt laugh (not even crack a smile) throughout the whole season.
Despite all the bad choices, i do appreciate the documentaries on wild life and LGBT representations. I did learn few about wild life and was introduced to many animals that was unaware of before. Overall not for me but recommended for others to try.

I loved this reminds me of shows I watched as a kid but just tweaked for adults. Reminds me of after school cartoons I get it's not adult cartoon in the way people are used too but I think this does it well plus I really enjoy the animal facts.

Each episode has a loose plot in a different part of the world and focuses on a particular trait in nature. The plot acts as a showcase for various nature facts. As an ecology dork, I had fun trying to guess what he was going to say, and learned along the way.
I wouldn't call it hilarious but when I laughed it was a proper snort that caught me by surprise.
The animation on the humans seems a bit.. off, especially Bonnie. But I can't put my finger on why so I didn't think it was fair to dock any points for that. The animation of the animals is much better, so I would guess they used animators more skilled at movement than facial expressions. The effect can be a bit off putting but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
It's not like anything else around at the moment - it reminds me a bit of the Wild Thornberries from the 90s.

A friend recommended this Series to me, because I study biology and he knows I loved animals.
In the beginning I was skeptical especially the first episode was kinda medium, not really bad but also not amazing.
That changed very quickly though, where personality of the characters started to come thtrough, jokes became more funny and the story line is not to intense but I conceive it as a good thing, so there is more place for the animal facts, which are therefore really interesting and entertaining!
Also Btg fighting every kind of animal, and never really being close to dying somehow has something... "Relaxing"? Because you get the thrill of wild dangerous animals and yet he shows that it's there nature and they are not notoriously bad creatures and laughs through his wounds.
I think it's an amazing show and would love to see more of it. :)
