I don't review movies much but I couldn't resist this one. I watched this in a festival and i wish the rating had more than 10 stars and a bow down emoji. What a unique concept I must say! I was surprised that no one has spoken about this subject till now. And someone that to a woman took the courage to make a film on this such a bold topic. Hats off!! Not that the story is only relevant to gay community but being a gay myself I can relate to the struggles of people from this community. I have seen and heard so many stories about people who suffers from domestic violence in silence and this story perfectly stitches the physiological trauma and the patterns of DV. It's a gripping story and keeps you on the edge. And the songs Oh my god! Although my favourite is 'Mainu Mere Jeha' , I often grove some moves on 'Teri Meri Zindari' with friends. Performance by actors Tai Khan and Mohinder deserve a standing ovation to be honest. Even the supporting cast has done their part brilliantly. Overall this film is full of emotions and definitely not for faint hearts. I can't wait for this it to be available on digital platforms so that i can show it in my circle. A must watch film!!

Qaid is a spine chilling movie and an absolute eye opener. Ofcourse I have seen and heard domestic violence in my life. Wives getting bitten up by husbands and what not but I never ever thought a man can suffer the same way.
Jigar leaving his country in attempt of a better life but one can not even imagine that he would face the same brutality that his mother has been suffering all her life. The only difference is his culprit is his own boyfriend Mihir.
Where Mohinder Kohli has played Jigar's part miraculously, Tai Khan's performance will make audience hate Mihir it's that powerful. The story's past and present run in parallel making the story even more engaging and generates curiosity.
Overall the way story shows domestic violence is spine chilling.
Highly recommended.

This is the best movie I have watches as per the based on domestic violence and based on true incidents. Story line and direction is also done really well. Acting wise all the artist has given their 100%. Songs are alsor really nice. These kind if films give the society really great message with the full entertainment. The whole amazing thing is the ending of this film intence audience could believe this can also happens. Movie making is not easy job when these kind of films come audience must appropriate and must watch to give the encourage the writers, directors and producers to make these kind of movies.

Qaid...no way out is a superb film!!!...For a film with a gay story line and absolutely shocking violence, is surprising to know, that it has a female director ......The direction by Sonia is first rate.!....The main leads Mohinder Kholi and Tai Khan are terrific!!!...The film depicts the domestic violence that we all have seen or heard about near us but failed to address..The film addresses that domestic violence in a brutal way!!!...They could have edited out some of the long scenes of other character artistes which prolonged the film..The film could have been a bit crisper..but otherwise it kept you tied to the story pretty well! .. On the whole a fantastic film...!!!

I must say filmmaker is commendable the way reality is presented. A very important and brave message to share. This is very true and everyone must watch it once. There is still a huge stigma attached to males reporting abuse whatever their sexual orientation is. Not only an amazing production but a very well thought concept. If only all films were like this. Impressive to say the least. It also proves that a good story doesn't really need a big cast. The story itself keeps you on the edge and you makes you keep wonder what's next. Some scenes are so relatable and I have seen them around. Writer has done a good research. The songs are so soothing. Well done to the makers. A must watch film.

Qaid presents a very unique perspective on domestic violence and shows how men can be victim too. Mohinder and Tai Khan with their performances portrayed their characters beautifully. The movie may feel slow at the beginning but what a turn it takes! Kudos to the makers for choosing such a bold and unique perspective on domestic violence. Sonia W Kohli in her directorial debut did an excellent job. The movie is well-written by her too. The film will keep you hooked till the climax. The background score and songs go well with the film.
Not only direction and writing, but the movie also excels in terms of performance. The viewers will witness two very new but refined actors at their best.
Other actors played their part brilliantly and managed to leave an impact as well.
Direction 5/5 Acting 5/5 Music 5/5 Story 5/5.

The film is actually quiet good in fact carries a very powerful concept. I have seen many domestic violence movies but this is something new to be honest. Domestic violence in a gay couple.
Women telling women stories are granted to be taken a good movie but a women telling a story that shows brutal action and at the same time touches on vulnerable side of men too is what got me hooked to it. This writer has caught the nerve of domestic violence brilliantly. Both actors are good. They gain your pity, love and hate too. Film is gripping, thrilling, edgy however the beginning is slow. The songs are lovely but very frequent in the beginning. Could have been little crispier but overall it's worth a watch that delivers a powerful message.

I recently watched it in a screening with some friends.
From storyline to music, romantic to action scenes and from direction to quality of acting, everything in this film is so brilliantly portrayed and executed. Don't be fooled by the slow start and the running time of around 2.5 hours, every scene has a meaning and everything makes sense.
New faces and yet both actors have nailed their parts. Quality of acting is superb in fact 100% better than some of the A level cast.
The intimate scenes in the movie are so beautifully filmed and doesn't feel forced and does not make viewers unconformable at all. The first quarter may feel slow but as the story proceeds it picks up momentum ties up the viewers. The climax is impressive and full of unexpected twists and turns.
In summary, it's very fresh and unique concept, which audience will appreciate. One of the most aesthetically filmed Hindi LGBTQ movie.

"Qaid - No Way Out" is an absolute masterpiece that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. The film's overall impact lies in its tight, suspenseful narrative that blends drama and tension perfectly. Every twist is unpredictable, and the storyline keeps you hooked, making it a must-watch for anyone who loves thrillers with depth.
The cast's performance is outstanding. Each actor brings intensity and emotion to their role, particularly the lead, who delivers a nuanced portrayal of a character trapped in a no-win situation. The supporting cast also adds layers to the plot, enhancing the film's gripping atmosphere.

Great film. Domestic violence in gay community really exists and this film does a good job in telling that. Exactly that. Methodical acting by the leads and supporting cast does the justice to their parts too.
Finally a great content on DV. Beginning could have been just a little crispier but content really is the king here. I recently watched a film called 'Do Patti' which reminded me of QAID as I watched in one of the festivals last year. Both films are on DV but Qaid is a real stealer for me. Direction, storytelling, acting everything commendable compared to Do Patti.
Qaid is inspirational and thought provoking, sensibly displays the pattern of DV. Highly recommended. A must watch.

Real, relatable, gripping and thought provoking. Such an amazing film that I had an opportunity to watch and yet I would say the most underrated film of 2024. It's one of those realities that gets lost among larger than life dramas. It's the kind of film that needs to come out and people need to see the reality. Filmmakers in India are still showing Gay characters as comic material but this is the kind of stuff that needs to come out, the reality. It beautifully illustrates the importance of diversity and inclusion that we all seek in our society. I am amazed with the fact that how the two leads dive right into their characters and justified their roles. Absolutely marvellous and aesthetically done and that too without any nudity been shown. Brilliant acting and what a story! There are many domestic violence stories out their but this really makes you think and that the pain is pain and it is same for all genders. I felt iron in my throat at some places. It's so gripping that the whole film kept me clung to my seat to find out how Jigar finds a way out from the Qaid. A woman to write and direct this movie in a way that she did and that too as her debut, I mean she must really understand it. Overall, it is a gripping film and it's a shame that it's so underrated at the same time. It really needs to be out there.

Truly a masterpiece. One of the Best LGBTQ films I have ever seen. And truly the best film to bring queer domestic violence reality to real life. Remarkable direction, cinematography, music and the acting. Some may be surprised to find it disturbing and violent, but it's a necessity for the message and also the intimacy shown is just right and what's necessary unlike what gets shown in Bollywood films these days. It's about societal thoughts and reflects on unrecognised issue that prevails in queer community. The way it shows the brutality between same sex and opposite sex at the same time is not exaggerated at all and that's what makes it unique, relatable and believable. You really have to watch it, as every scene has a meaning which links up to tell why Jigar is what he is, why Mihir does what he does and also why society reacts the way it reacts. Noting but just truth. It could be a wake up call for society. An amazing film. Must watch!

A must watch film. From direction to acting, superbly done. Really brave topic and emotions are handled so carefully and gracefully.
Don't miss the opportunity to watch. I had the opportunity to watch it in a screening. Can't wait for it to be out so that i can watch it again. Both actors have outshone all superstars out there by showcasing real emotions of LGBTQ life. It goes to show that there are some phenomenal talents out there and off course the good looks :) This is one of the very few LGBTQ movies that you can watch without feeling awkward. We need more movies like this that shows just the right amount of love, emotions and violence and everything just perfectly makes sense. I love the way the film is stitched together by going back and forth. Had tears for Jigar in my eyes at places. Music is so soothing. BGM is magical. I am in absolute love with the songs. The film is engaging, gripping, thrilling and true to reality and a must watch.

The trailer said inspired by true events and guess what it really is. When I began i wasnt aware that the movie is going to be so heart wrenching. The story educates one of the atrocities that can happen to a gay person. The movie has been superbly directed and the role of Jigar is amazingly played by Mohinder who suffers in silence and that is the truth in our society. Wether women or men the film shows that the suffering is the same, the domestic violence pattern is same. Role of Mihir who plays the abuser, is perfectly played by Tai khan and his acting is so believable. Other actors in the film also have perfect placement and have done their part just right. I am just not used to 2 and half hour long movie but still the actors and the director, all nailed it. Kudos to them.
I would highly recommend the movie.
