The characters, Tom and Jerry (Richie and Wally), were named after a cat and mouse duo.
A sequel was planned that feature the ending of Tom and Jerry getting possessed into monsters. Unfortunately, it was never happened until it was spawned into a television series by TV5, which does not continue the ending for some reason.
