Too often films dealing with the subject matter of this film get bogged down in cliche and over-sentimentality. Not so with Infraction. Director, Timothy Blackwood, manages to avoid these pitfalls to deliver a concise story (from his own script) of yet another example of how the US judicial system has let down its citizens. In its short run time this film delivers an emotional finale as the actors, portraying the real life people this story is based on, give fantastic performances that enable the viewer to empathise and root for them immediately. Understated performances to tell the real story of real people and deliver a message of hope. Definitely a film to seek out.
Terrance Lewis' spirit, valiance, courage, determination, and his journey are extraordinary. Sergeant Bennett's compassion and humanity are also extraordinary. Director Timothy Blackwood's film beautifully, eloquently, and powerfully, gives life to this part of Mr. Lewis' life. It isn't possible to watch this film without wanting to be a better person, to fight for injustice and for those without a voice. Thank you to the cast and crew for this work. Thank you to the communities who donated resources to make this work happen. I highly recommend this short film. It will be 21 minutes and 27 seconds you will not regret. Share this film and live it's message.
