I loved every minute of this series! It had me in stitches, I was laughing so much! Risa Koizumi and Atsushi Otani have such a comical relationship and yet from the beginning you are rooting for them to get together. The series also portrays the insecurities of a first relationship very accurately and I'm sure most people can relate. Unlike many other anime series', I didn't feel frustrated by the writing or the lack of progress. And, having listened to it in Japanese (and read English subtitles), I commend the voice actors for conveying the emotions portrayed on screen excellently! All in all a series well worth watching (and re-watching)!

This is it - the essence of The Unbearable Lightness of Being! Someone said that it is hidden in ignorance and apathy, but I fundamentally disagree with this statement. I believe that wings will be acquired only by those who want to know more, to be more proficient-those who make their attempts and aren't afraid to make mistakes. Lovely Complex is an anime about that kind of persons - about the children, the better versions of ourselves, who we were when we were young.

This amazing work of Japanese animation will help you regain a long-forgotten sense of youth. It's a time when you probably don't know anything about the unpleasant sides of life, but you are pretty sure that life is bright and certainly beautiful. Very often, this innocent feeling is completely absent from our real lives, and its absence transforms them into a drab existence.

Lovely Complex softens the soul in such a touching and tender way that you won't notice the change in yourself immediately. But you will, because all of us, without exception, are familiar with the feelings experienced by the main characters - at least all human beings who tend to doubt no less than they breathe. And it will make you want to fly because of how easily, gracefully, and sincerely these feelings are portrayed.

It will make you want to return to being 15, 16, or 17 y.o., to cross out the date of birth on your passport, to finally awaken from the day-numbing, mercantile wheel of fortune, to breathe in the smell of fireworks, and to wake up cheerfully and happily in the mornings with thoughts of your friends, not of an abominable routine.

Everything written above doesn't mean that Lovely Complex is recommended only for those seeking oblivion, euphoria, and youthful absolute happiness. Oh no, this anime will steal your peace; you will want to experience everything at once, to discover life in new ways. It will awaken you to life, sharpen your senses, and bestow an impulse to regain those subtle, ephemeral moments that fill our lives with meaning - those moments whose true value we can appreciate only after a while. No matter how many of them you find in your past, it won't be enough. That's why just the thought of sitting alone within four walls in front of a flickering monitor will cause you at least a heartburn.

Yes, despite the fact that "Lovely Complex" is deemed "lovely," it rewards you with a great motivating kick in the backside. It is simply impossible not to fall in love with the main characters, to not reconsider your retrograde views on the school anime genre, or to not forgive the industry's missteps. "Lovely Complex" redeems the sins of the genre by its mere existence; it soothes, creates a peaceful mood, and increases the overall number of smiles in the world - it is utterly impossible not to smile while watching it. Your lips will curve into a smile at what unfolds on the screen: absurdity, humor, a foolishness that arises not from stupidity but from despair, a courage emerging from hopelessness, first love, trembling knees, and the thrill of the heart. We have all gone through this, yet not everyone has managed to retain the joy of discovery. But don't be misled by the words above; this is one of those rare cases when rose-colored sentiments will not provoke an allergic reaction - it is impossible to be allergic to yourself!

This work is light and easy, but at the same time it is stubborn and persistent like the inner voice, which repeats, "Everything will be fine." And it certainly will, if you don't sit idly by. Lovely Complex contains one simple, well-defined thought-unenterprising people will lose. Always. For love, you have to struggle. For the sake of friendship, you have to be ready for anything.

The authors have invented a real-time machine that allows us to re-experience long-forgotten feelings. This journey may be a bit painful (yes, unfortunately, time does not flow in reverse), but it is so profound, so sincere, and so plausible. You love, you believe, and all of this is sparked by some anime about Japanese teenagers. What is it if not real magic?

The simply premise of a tall girl falling in love for a short guy is unique and interesting, this anime is from 2007 so that explains it hasn't the best animation but the magic comes from the amazing and lovely characters, even the friends of the mains characters are really cool, it's really fun anime and with all the faces that the characters do I was laughing so hard the whole time.

Definitely highly recommended even if you don't like anime in general but like romantic comedies.

Lovely Complex is pretty much the best rom com I've ever watched. There's nothing like it. It's seriously hilarious and the characters are all well done and super relatable!!

This is one of the best anime ive ever watched! Its funny and uplifting while telling a story of a friendship turning into love. If you love having a laugh I highly suggest this anime!

This was my first anime and this anime is so good, I mean it contains everything, everything is perfectly summed up and balanced, it does makes you cry and laugh at the same time, never saw a show like this, totally recommended for everyone, being a short guy myself, I found it pretty good. And truly the comedy in this anime is top notch, brilliant in every scene, and the scenes which are emotional will directly connect with you, you'll cry for sure, I wish it to be more popular, and I really was hoping there would've been planning for 2nd season, but sadly there's no 2nd season, I beg to the creators please bring us a 2nd season.

I honestly loved Risa and Otani! They were always getting on each others nerves like an old married couple and like it was pure hilarious to hear them say rubbish to each other! The comedy was pretty funny and the romance was just adorable! I give this anime a 8/10!

The height difference between the leads becomes a hilarious recurring joke, but it's their genuine connection that makes my heart skip a beat. Who wouldn't root for a couple that starts as best friends and blossoms into something more?
