The idea for the film came to Jamie Cohen, Writer/Director of "The Barber of Kigali" after listening to a young Rwandan Genocide Survivor's story of survival. Cohen invited Patrick, now a 24 year old student at a university in Toronto, to speak to the high school class he was teaching.
