The acting debut of Kaarina Gould. She did some modeling before the series and appeared as a child extra in Hepskukkuu (1979).
The series was shot two years before its television premiere. Actor Kristo Salminen applied to the Theatre Academy of Helsinki during the production and was already a student there in 1994.
A 40-minute length of the episodes was problematic for Yleisradio at the time. Director Niemi was unhappy that the series aired over a year after post-production was finished.
Roughly 400 youths were screen tested for the series. Then 18-year-old Kristo Salminen was found from the amateur theatre "Kellariteatteri" in Helsinki.
