This is the fourth movie under the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries banner from executive producer and country singer Blake Shelton that are associated with one another. His mother, Dorothy Shackleford, wrote a Christmas novel, "Time for Me to Come Home", and in 2012 Blake wrote a song by the same name with his mother's assistance, a song that is featured in all four. The first movie, Time for Me to Come Home for Christmas (2018), was produced in 2018; the second, Time for You to Come Home for Christmas (2019), in 2019; the third, Time for Us to Come Home for Christmas (2020), in 2020; and this, the fourth, in 2021. Each movie focuses on different characters and stories.
Alison Sweeney reprises her role as Katherine Moss from Time for You to Come Home for Christmas (2019). She shares Christmas croissants from her family's bakery which are featured in the prior movie.
