During the first day of rehearsals, character names were discussed and it was suggested that the lead character be called 'Bruce Maverick' - based on Bruce (Willis) and Top Gun's Maverick. This joke was continued into the Raindance TV video journals. This is not the name of the character to be used in the final film.
