Is it fake? Probably. ;)
Is it fun to watch? Yes.
Alaska is beautiful and to see an area I probably won't get to is cool.
If you like a bit of history thrown in with your bigfoot hunt then this is the show for you. Enjoy!

I'm big into cryptids, and this provides the lovely charm and mystery that cryptids give me. Well researched and well put together for a fun time. I've seen most every doc on Bigfoot, and this provides a fresh perspective. I'd highly recommended this to anyone who is looking for something different, and hope this gets renewed for S02!

The history is cool, although there are plenty of debates on whether it's even real history. Don't expect anything other than just entertainment. It's fun and it's sparked great conversations with my kids.
The guys are clearly reading scripts and sometimes it's super flat which makes it even funnier. I'm half expecting one of them to accidentally say "what was that noise, acts scared". Lots of "look over there", Blair Witch style movie magic. We are definitely going to keep watching it, like moths to the dumpster fire flame, because it's just entertaining.

So so fake its ridiculous, why must you ruin what could have been something great. You take a very intriguing history of real people and hardship and turn it into garbage WHY it's not necessary. I am embarrassed for these participants.

This is a pretty good show. If u compare it to the others it stands out. The people are about what you expect. The people on here blasting it what do you want a Hollywood production. The storyline is right on with what seems to have happened there. If you are not fascinated by it why are you taking the time here. Let the show play out and then we will know more.

Even if they found nothing, a thorough investigation of the region on foot would still be very interesting. Instead we get this scripted acting with psychics and fake noises piped in. This show is so fake it's dumb. That being said it does hold some entertainment value in the origin story for Port Chatham and the history of the area where something happened a long time ago. Murders may have happened 80 years ago, so they figure that same Bigfoot must be in the area still? It would have clearly died by now due to old age! Offspring could be around...maybe? If they only focused this show on being realistic and hiking the region in a thorough and scientific way then this show could be entertaining. Flying in psychics and disreputable Bigfoot "experts" is all bull. 5/10 for some entertainment value, but I a, betting this is NOT what people really want to see.

I have seen countless bigfoot movies tv series and of course pictures.
Yeah some are so bad you're saying 🙄 why would people spend time and money to make this?
I for one love the show and can't wait for the next episode to air .

Pretending to search for Big Foot, a troop of girly men traveling in groups of 4 or 5, tramp around in wooded areas during both day and night. Every natural sound frightens them while fake sounds pretrify them. And God forbid, if they think they see a Big Foot they immediately vacate their bowels. Makes for humorous entertainment. Best with alcohol.

It's not a bad show, I like the way vintage looking interviews were done.
My issue is the guys always running away. They talk to a historian who gives them serious facts about how their people and others who came there. They ignore all the concepts of being respectful.
Going to watch to the end because it's still interesting.

Unfortunately, this show is about as bad as Mountain Monsters. Everything seems/is rehearsed and very fake. They are on 40 day mission and don't accomplish anything. They don't really use any night cameras, trail cameras or thermal cams. A missed opportunity for some actual research. If you want a real Bigfoot show, this isn't it. If you want some mindless entertainment about cryptids, this may be for you.
Out of all the bigfoot documentaries, this show probably wouldn't make it on the list of great shows. Its a interesting story being told on why they are going back to the island, but other than that it gets a bit boring. There is no quick footage, or sounds recorded of bigfoot of any kind. Mostly its about the spirits of the previous settlers wandering the island. Its still something to have playing and listen to in the background if you are a bigfoot fan.

This is the most scripted garbage I have watched, and that's saying a lot for Discovery. Some of the stuff these guys say is just downright embarrassing. Does a huge disservice to the unique history of the area and makes a mockery of the legend.
Every time they hear a noise of get near something they all say let's get out of here!! They are looking for Bigfoot and as soon as they are close they turn all Monty Python and run away! Why arnt the using the heat signature cam all the time , it's annoying and frustrating.

I really love the history. I love abandoned places, and also bigfoot. I wanted to love this show.
With that said their reactions are like bad acting. Every single thing is bigfoot, or made by bigfoot, marked by bigfoot, etc... Just seemed very fake. I'm also wondering if the old interviews are new ones that they made look old by editing them.
Very suspect. Watch for the history of the area. That is the most interesting part.

So they are hunting bigfoot, but whenever they are close to him the say "We better get out of here" I don't get that. If you want to see him you have to keep it together and be prepared. I do enjoy watching but I am disappointed every time the run like little girls!

This place isn't as remote as it's portrayed. It's not an island or blocked by any natural barriers. It's only about 20 miles from a community ( seldovia ) that's been there for I can't even remember how long and still is alive and well. Just because there was a cannery there doesn't mean there was ever some giant slug of fish that arrived there every year. A cannery is placed in the most profitable spot the process the fish. Basically there never was any sustainable harvest in that bay. Sure, fish to catch and eat but not commercial fishing. Trollers would have been far away ( just like in the show deadliest catch ) so nobody is coming back for that reason. So, if there's a wild pack of bigfoot running around I would think they could have made the 20 mile walk to the next village to terrorise them as well. I actually do believe there is a possibility of a unknown creature of this kind. But, when I saw the cinder blocks they hauled for a fire pit instead of just grabbing some boulders from the beach? Really? Just my perspective as 48 year Alaskan resident but hey, if your entertained that's all good to. We can also be entertained by facts, science and accurate history. I also have the feeling that some of the participants in the filming are not told how they are being portrayed in the story line.

I absolutely loved watching this show, one of my favorite bigfoot shows. Most tend to get pretty boring, this keeps you on your toes. Good work guys, love the scares.

I enjoyed watching the show and the premise about rebuilding Portlock, AK. I enjoy watching all the bigfoot expedition shows. But this one proved to be about as fake as many of the others. The major give-away was during the first episode when the men were forced to spend their first night in the spooky house. They were awakened by something making noise outside and none of them retrieved a flashlight and investigated what it was, not even there armed bear guard dude. In another episode, something was on the roof and they didn't investigate and one of the camera guys was outside. The viewer was quickly shown a brief shot from the outside. That was all. Highly suspicious.

Once again we another silly show about bigfoot in Alaska. Except this bigfoot is murderous and seem to have many magical powers. We have a group of Native Alaskan men who are going back to a town they abandoned before Alaska even became a state. They supposedly fled after a group of disappearances and unsolved murders they think were committed by bigfoot. It is now 2021 and the Natives say they need to return to the Portlock as they have no room left to grow where they are and resources are now depleting as well. Portlock was a thriving town with a cannery, saw mill, post office and school. Due to the strange disappearances and unsolved murders all the resident just walked away leaving the town to decay. So before going to explore what is left as seems no one even bothered to revisit after leaving not even to sail pass it even. One of the members has a Russian Orthodox Priest come and give them a blessing for safety as well as holy water and Icons to keep them safe. I did say it was ridiculously funny. Now they are going to place where they are in fear of bigfoot they leave so late they arrive at Portlock close to sunset. This has everything you will find in a B horror movie, only thing missing so far is Elvira Mistress. Of the Dark to give color commentary on this group actions. It is funny they are going to stay and explore for 40 days, however they do not have walkie talkies to communicate when they are separated, lots of electronics but in two episodes I saw no way for them to recharge batteries and such. Yes they have taken the now ever popular trail cams and computers with them, which seem to have batteries that fail for no reason. Maybe it is not bigfoot could be the Sanderson sisters left Massachusetts to escape persecution for witchcraft and settled in wilds of Alaska to cause murder and mayhem in what became the town of Portlock?

This is shockingly bad. That's about it , just nonsense.its as wooden as it gets , they try to make this tension which clearly isn't there. I mean one line is "don't go in the woods whatever you do " then there's a camera shot from within the woods . Garbage.

I truly enjoyed this series, and some of the new angles on Bigfoot they covered. I hope they do a season 2, but also hope they change the style just a bit. Have watched just about every Bigfoot and alien show out there, its just enjoyable to me. After witnessing bigfoot howls in N. CA, I am sure they exist, which is why some parts of this show bothered me. Its not supposed to be a scripted show, but there were situations where bigfoot howls, rock throws, and burning cabins should cause a lot more concern and fear than how the crew responded. It was as though they knew it was fake, or several of those situations would had sent anyone into extreme fear and into hiding. The ending (I won't say) was highly suspect to me, as though part of the crew did what they want us to believe Bigfoot did (after they get on the boat). And the whole time they only do one night drone, which showed what appeared to be a bigfoot coming for them, and then nothing. NOTHING. And after your camp is destroyed, you just casually sleep there the next night? Just saying, I think the show should be more real, and give more credit to what is likely also real, Bigfoot.
