Or not of course - so no pun intended. The short movie is giving us quite a weird set up - even the main character is not entirely sure what happens or where she is ... who the people are she interacts with. I imagine I missed some clues - so maybe you were able to figure out where this was leading to, before we arrived there. I did not see that ending coming - at least not to that degree.
On the other hand, maybe it is obvious and I was ... well asleep. No pun intended here either. I am certain you can find quite a few philosophical explanations when it comes to the ending of the short - and they all will be way better than anything I can cook up ... so I will leave you with your own ... research and enjoyment.
