Asylum of Darkness: "'Wild Eye Releasing unlocks the doors to award-winning filmmaker Jay Woelfel's supernatural horror feature Asylum of Darkness this April.

Woelfel’s stirring cocktail of supernatural suspense and goosebump-inducing horror features a superlative cast of sci-fi and horror icons including Golden Globe nominee Richard Hatch (Battlestar Galactica), in one his final film appearances.

Shia Labeouf (Transformers, upcoming Fury), Emmy nominee Kate Mara (Netflix’s “House of Cards,” upcoming The Fantastic Four) and Oscar nominee Gary Oldman (Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, The Dark Knight Rises) are set to star in the psychological thriller, Man Down, it was announced today by producers Dawn Krantz (Doonby), Stephen McEveety (The Passion Of The Christ) and Jon Burton (The Lego Movie).

Dito Montiel (A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints, Fighting) will direct from a screenplay by Adam Simon (Synapse).

Currently in pre-production, principal photography is scheduled to start on October 30th in Louisiana.

The Solution Entertainment Group (“The Solution”) is handling international rights and will present the project to buyers at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Lisa Wilson and Myles Nestel from The Solution are also executive producing the projectalongside Roger Goff. Also slated to executive produce are Russell Geyser and Clay Pecorin. Patrick Hibler will co-produce the feature film.

Robert Davi is a great actor and one of the classiest guys I know in Hollywood. If you don't remember him from Die Hard or The Goonies you'll definitely remember him from License To Kill, in which he played one of the most popular villains of the James Bond series. Recently Robert also made the jump to directing, helming his first feature film, The Dukes, which has won nine international awards and was released on DVD a couple of weeks back. Rolling Stone called it "a gem." It's a funny movie that gives new meaning to the term "fools gold." So when I asked him to be in my next movie, Doonby, I was pleased that he agreed to do it. I'm in a grand old Texas town called Smithville, shooting my next movie Doonby with a great cast and crew. The film was written and is being directed by Peter Mackenzie. The cast is an amazing group of friends new and old-John Schneider, Robert Davi, Will Wallace, Jenn Gotzon, Joe Estevez, and others. On the flight out from Lax I ran into Joe and we had a nice chat. Add a few years onto his nephew Emilio Estevez and you have Joe. He's a great guy who told me all about his great family of 10 brothers and sisters born into an Irish Catholic/Spanish family (including his brother Martin Sheen). His mother was apparently told that she couldn't have any more kids after the first two, but she ignored doctors' orders and had eight more. Love that. The film centers...

I'm writing my first blog for the Huffington Post from the set of my next film, Doonby. I'm shooting it here near Austin, Texas and I forgot how hot it can be in Texas. Just sent a runner out for extra strong antiperspirant to keep from staining every T-Shirt! Doonby is a film that's been described by the producers as Crazy Heart-meets-It's A Wonderful Life, but I call it It's A Wonderful Life without the Wonderful. Seriously though, it's a mystery/suspense/thriller and I'm really proud to be a part of it along with my co-stars Robert Davi (remember him from Die Hard?), Jenn Gotzon and the rest.
