Credited on screen to unknown writer-director "Perry James" (IMDb attributed it to Paul Chaplin), this conclusion of the 8-hour-plus "Black Beauty" saga largely jettisons potential drama (misleadingly hawked on the DVD liner) in favor of wall- to-wall sex.
Cliffhanger of the crucial steeplechase race is resolved in under a minute at the beginning, in a very poorly staged scene of Lady Michaela's horse throwing her at the last jump, permitting our mute heroine Jodie to win and save the day. Hokey gimmick of fellow whore visiting from London, Polly having bet 10,000 pounds at 80 to 1 odds, thereby raising the money to save Black Beauty's Ashby Stables is tossed in, but the entirety of this 3-hour episode is devoted to all and sundry celebrating via orgiastic sex.
Orgies are Bluebird Films' major domo Chaplin's forte and fetish, so virtually every sex scene erupts into one. Michelle Thorne is featured in the first one, set under a tent on the racing grounds; Carolina de Lys as Lady Michaela starts the second one, and so on.
Jodie James as our feckless heroine is involved in a couple, giving the big-busted starlet a chance to amply demonstrate her proved deep throat skills. She even gets a highly improbable proposal of marriage from Lord Ashby (Demetri XXX), a bit much but she did win the race and rejuvenate our title horse after all.
Most of the later reels are devoted to sex that has nothing to do with the ostensible feature at hand, a trademark of Bluebird's loosey-goosey approach to narrative. Several Girl Guides have an orgy, and Ben Dover returns as evil real estate developer Brent Grimes, thwarted in his plans but still hard as a rock at a ripe old age. A county fair staging has a couple of sexy milkmaids (not what you're thinking) servicing all the guys, well-performed by Yank guest star Eva Angelina and the bounteous Alexis May. Plumper deluxe Kristyn Halborg as the stables owner pops up briefly in the celebration but is disappointingly AWOL for the sex scenes, resulting in her being uncredited on screen (only listed on the front of the DVD box).
When it's all over, what we're left with is not the expected spunky heroine of literature but rather a heroine covered in spunk.
