Black butter is an apple spread that has been prepared in Jersey for hundreds of years, but this unique product is in risk to disappear. The National Trust for Jersey is trying to keep this unique aspect of Jersey's heritage and started organizing black butter nights to keep this tradition alive. The documentary filmmaker Daniela Rusowsky filmed -for the first time in professional format- the complete process of black butter making, which takes two days of hard work and community spirit, in an event which involves very dedicated people of all ages. Her experience not only reveled an ancient recipe, it also unfolds the spirit of one of Jersey's best kept secrets: its people. .
