Hats off to producing and releasing an independent $100K movie like this! It made me care about the characters and it made my eyes wet at times. Good story telling and great acting!
I love cultures and races and the interactions. What threw me off in the beginning was that most of the cast was black. It intrigued me from the start... most movies in the west you see today have a mix of races, but here the whites are rare, love it (me being blue-eyed blond)!
The audio might not be perfect at times nor some visuals but overall, who cares! It's the story that keeps you hooked. And it did. It was predictable from the start and throughout yet quite entertaining at the same time.
As far as love goes... not an easy subject. Examined from many perspectives in the movie from quite dumb to rather perceptive. Contrasts and unanswered questions. Oxymorons. Struggle. Learning. Forgiveness. Choices. Dilemma. Ending?

they don't usually like romantic comedies. found it very romantic. a number of them bought it for their girlfriends. it should be on BET... plug...plug...plug...and, oh yeah...plug. my intuition is pumping 'fraud' to my pen. it might be good but this kind of tactic really puts me off. so if you come back here to read reviews other than your own on the movie, i want you to know that i'm on to you... and it doesn't make the movie look any better. my review doesn't have enough lines. now i wish i took notes on those previous reviews so i could show more of the similarities. it's like they got together and discussed what to write and who will write what. there. that should be enough.

I was surprised by how much I really liked this film. I'm kind of fussy about romantic comedy, as so much of it seems to follow the exact same plot. This little urban romance was different from the start. It had a lot of little twists and turns which held my attention right to the end. The set-up was great and followed with frustration, annoyance, and disappointment as the plot drew toward the conclusion. And the ending was never a foregone conclusion. I was on the edge of my seat hoping for a happy ending right up to the end. I watched it with my daughter and best friend and we all loved it. If you like romantic comedy, you must watch Anatomy of Love. Can't wait to see more work by Way-Young.

The Anatomy of Love is a PG-13 movie that addresses the potential and common issues of love that derive from divorce. Often children grow up with a definition of love that is derived from their home environment, and therefore their parents. The Anatomy of Love opens the dialogue between parents and children (teens) on the true meaning of love. Jenesis apprehension to love, Cassious decision to lay his heart on the line, and both their peers and parents reactions to love provokes audiences, young and mature, to reflect on the value and quality of their relationships. It causes each person to evaluate the message they are sending to their significant others, spouses, children and friends on love. This is a must see movie for anyone, who has ever been, will be, or currently is in love. A terrific date night movie!

I hate when I watch a romantic comedy and I'm super bored and disappointed because the movie is not funny or corny. Most romantic comedies do not work because they tend to very generic and formulaic. The Anatomy of Love is not one of those disappointments. The Anatomy of Love is a great romantic comedy because it is a simple story that appeals to both men and women. It's upbeat, it has plenty of laughs, and gives you a warm fuzzy feeling at the movie's conclusion. It has superior video quality, the production quality is stellar, and the actors are very convincing. The Anatomy of Love is a great independent film. Buy It!

28 November 2017: I was bored while in my room on vacation, so I got on my laptop computer and I found this flick while on the i-net. Glad I did, I wonder why I have not seen or heard of young talented lead actress Rachelle Neal.
Greg Galloway wrote a good script that a lot of men who want a certain woman that he has known for a long time in their lives to be more than buddies. The man from college age and up jumps through hoops for a certain woman hoping that she will realize that he loves her and wants to put a ring on her finger, but she just kicks him to the curb with the lame excuse of "I think of you like my brother. I don't want to ruin our friendship" crap.
I can personally relate to this story in the mid 90's when I too wanted a woman to be my romantic lover, but she kept me in her friend zone. This film is great from start to finish especially when it gets past the opening party scene. Lead actress, Rachelle Neal is very talented and does a great job in the lead role. I think Rachelle need to come out to California and try her luck and talent in California. I am sure that she will do well.
I thought that I would be disappointed with the ending when after she confessed in class that she love Cassius and outside. But the ending turned out great. Great job by Greg Galloway. Also thanks for the eye candy provided by actress Lexi Walter (Tiffany Gomez) and Arabic or Iranian cutie Nadia Zebib (Samara). The supporting cast also did a good job in their roles, but again the award goes to Rachelle Neal. This film should have had a better distributor. Two thumbs up and a 9.

When watching this movie I asked myself,"Why is this movie not showing on BET? It has all the makings of a made for TV show. This movie is a close look at how our lives affect our children. The mother has been affected by the actions of her spouse. Now that she is a free woman, she decides to date. She never stops to think about who she is. This movie also shows how a fathers role is important in the outcome of his daughters relationships. They learn how to love at home, or how not to love. I thought that it was displayed in a manner that would catch the attention of young and the old. I have seen movies like this on TV and thought that this would be a great addition to any line up.
I was skeptical at first when my home girl told me about this movie, especially when she told me it was a independent film. After I watched the movie....OMG!!!!! I was blown away. The plot was great and the actors acted like Hollywood stars. I bought this movie for my lady because she is a big movie buff, especially if its romantic. We watched this movie and after the movie was over she told her girlfriends and they bought this movie as well. This movie could easily be a big budget film because of the way it was put together. I would recommend this film to all my friends and family....Excellent movie. I can't wait to see what else they put out.....

I have always loved romantic comedies, but we all know sometimes they can be very predictable, you can tell from the first fifteen minutes how the movie is going to end, you can almost say it word for word. This movie really shocked me it was funny, suspenseful and fresh. This movie demanded my attention with a very talented young cast that really kept my attention with lots of laughs and suspense. I ended up rewinding several times, to some of the funniest scenes that I missed from laughing so hard. I have shown this movie to my friends and we all agree this movie gets back to the roots of a funny urban romantic comedy. I recommend this movie to anyone who looking for a great movie night.

I typically am not a fan of romantic comedies. The story is always the same; girl meets boy, girl chases boy, girl and boy fall in love the end. This movie offers a twist to the traditional romantic comedies I have seen. I really enjoyed the directors approach in dealing with romances when it comes to the urban community. The movie kept my attention the entire time and I really felt connected to the characters. This movie will make you laugh, it's an all around feel good movie. I was shocked to see how great the quality of the movie was and the excellent cinematography used for an independent film. I actually liked it just as much, if not better, than some of the few urban romance comedies released such as: Brown Sugar, The Wood, Boomerang, etc. If you are looking for a great movie, one the entire family can enjoy, this is the movie to own!

We all have questions about what love really means. "Anatomy of Love" was very well written and did a great job entertaining these questions. The movie exuded fun through a very vibrant and talented cast of actors. The creative direction for the movie caused you to think back on signs of love that one may have over looked in the past. It's a lesson in love we all can relate to. The college setting helps keep your attention from beginning to end. While others can relate to experiencing a broken heart rather by a love interest or a family member. This movie helps define love genuinely and with integrity. Cheers to Way-Younge LLC, for producing a movie that we can watch time and time again.

I usually don't go for the Romantic / ooh I love you type movies. But I must say, this movie by far exceeded all my expectations. Not only did I watch the movie multiple times, I purchased it to add to my collection. And my friends will tell you, if I buy it I must really like it. there were not the regular slow spots that are in most movies today. It was well thought out and put together VERY well. I would recommend this movie to just about anyone and everyone. If you like to laugh and get real value from your movies, then seriously consider this one. This is one of those movies that if you do not pay attention to it, you will miss out on a great one. Make sure you check this out, you will NOT be sorry.

A very good story line that holds your interest throughout the movie. Cassious being an compassionate person who tries hard to let Jenesis know how he feels about her. Jenesis has no immediate intention on allowing their relationship get past "Friends only with possible benefits". Cassious eventually has to put away his feelings for her and pursue other avenues for love. The actors performances allows their characters to be quite believable...... A movie to watch with the girls or that significant other. The blending of the comedy and drama was so well done with this movie it has a melodic flow to it. You will find yourself laughing and the next minute tearing up. This is definitely a movie to add to ones collection. A round of applause to the cast and crew for doing such an impeccable job with this movie.

This movie made me laugh, cry and laugh even more. This is the perfect date night movie and if you're feeling a little risqué maybe family movie as well. I felt like there was finally a movie with a message yet entertaining. It seems like there are no good romantic comedies anymore. We definitely need more movies like this; I so hope that there is a part two. Considering that the lead guy was very easy on the eye along with his crew. They were very goofy but supportive of their boy. "The Anatomy of Love" is a classic. If you haven't seen this movie yet then you are missing out on something worth seeing. You will fall in love with the cast within the first few seconds of the movie. Again I hope that there is a part two in the making because it is needed. Hurry and go get this movie;-)
