He was creative, generous, funny, loving and talented and I will miss him enormously. He was an original and lived life to the fullest. The world was a brighter place because of Larry Hagman." With actor Larry Hagman’s passing on Friday, TNT’s newly revived version of Dallas is planning some adjustments to its second season.
Hagman had continued working on the show even after his announcement in October that he was diagnosed with cancer. In fact, he was scheduled to appear on set this week. Sources say he completed filming “a number of episodes” and will appear in season two of the series, though it’s unclear if the actor had a reduced work schedule compared to season one to accommodate his illness.
His passing will also be incorporated into the show.

It’s already been picked up for a second season, so it’s safe to get invested.

TNT's "Dallas" sequel has scored big in the ratings this summer, and the cable channel is rewarding it by ordering a second season.
The network has also picked up its crime drama "Rizzoli & Isles" for another season after it's demonstrated it can stand on its own this summer.
"Dallas" has averaged 6.9 million viewers over its first two episodes (including three days of DVR viewing on each). Its premiere on June 13 has drawn 7.8 million viewers (again with three-day DVR use figured in), making it the top scripted premiere of 2012 on cable. Season 2 of the new "Dallas" will air next year and run 15 episodes, up from 10 this summer.
"Rizzoli & Isles" has drawn even bigger numbers for TNT so far this summer. Including DVR use, it's averaging 7.1 million viewers so far and shown it can thrive without "The Closer" as its lead-in. Season 4 of the show will also air next year and feature 15 episodes.

For those who weren't sure they could live another day without seeing 80-year-old Larry Hagman in a bath towel, have I got a treat for you. Because here he is, in a bath towel, on the new poster promoting TNT's upcoming revival of the iconic '70s and '80s primetime soap "Dallas". Larry's not the only one, of course. Patrick Duffy - you know, the dad from "Step By Step" - is also on hand here, and boy does he get our minds going with that come-hither sideways stare. Gee, aren't your loins just tingling? Ok, who else? Linda Gray - 71...

Looks like things are going to get steamy on TNT’s new Dallas reboot, er, continuation.
A clever new teaser campaign features the core cast stripped down to nothing but fluffy white towels. The accompanying tagline — “They’re back, and no, you’re not dreaming” — pays clever tribute to the ’80s-era series’ memorable/zany revelation that its entire eighth season was nothing more than an extended dream sequence, a plot point that came to light when Pam discovered the presumed-dead Bobby alive and well and in the shower in the Season 9 premiere.

Maybe in the end it will all turn out to have been nothing but a weird dream, but for now it looks like it's time to dust off those sequinned shoulder pads and get ready for The Oil Barons' Ball: The much-hyped 'Dallas' reboot is a "Go."
With new casting updates comes news that the rebooted 'Dallas' will contain some classic elements: Love triangles, betrayals, family clashes and, finally, Mr. J.R. Ewing himself.
According to deadline.com, 'Desperate Housewives' alum Josh Henderson has signed on to play J.R. and Su Ellen's son, John Ross. Producers say that the new drama will focus on the next generation of the Ewing dynasty as they squabble over power, money and women.
However, the old Southfork guard will still be scheming in the background: TNT has confirmed that the trio at the center of the original series, Larry Hagman (J.R.), Linda Gray (Su Ellen) and Patrick Duffy (Bobby) will all be returning.
