Last year director Brandon Slagle’s The Black Dahlia Haunting became the indie horror sleeper hit of the year. Now he has come back with Dead Sea, a film that, despite its colorful poster design, is in many ways even darker and more brooding than its predecessor. Fans of The Back Dahlia Haunting will embrace this new film even more passionately, and it will be an even bigger hit. Dead Sea is a film that is sure to make waves, pun intended.

Dead Sea revolves around a small town with a big problem. The town is built around a salt-water lake, and every thirty years a Lovecraftian monster appears and feeds on the local inhabitants until they restore equilibrium by sacrificing one of their own.

It took twenty years but it finally did it - Steven Spielberg's "Jurassic Park" has earned a membership in the billion dollar movies club. The original film took in around $920 million in unadjusted worldwide grosses back in 1993.

Horror actor Bill Oberst Jr. has been in such thrilling films as A Haunting in Salem, Nude Nuns with Big Guns and The Devil Within . Now, this prolific actor has opened his own horror themed website which focuses on body horror, or scaring people with your physique: "Bill draws inspiration from the horror greats to use his face and body in disturbing ways on screen" (Oberst). Let's say you're a filmmaker. And let's say you make a film about a certain secret military base that happens to be in Nevada. What better place to premiere that movie than right up the road in Sin City? And that's exactly what the people behind Area 51 Confidential intend to do.

Described as The Blair Witch Project meets Alien, Area 51 Confidential looks to be a really tense suspense film in the vein of Blair Witch but with the whole interplanetary thing worked in. And now they're going to unleash this project on the world.

Area 51 Confidential will be in Las Vegas during the Black October Art and Film Invasion. Although the schedule is not set in stone yet, the festival runs from October 7-9, and Area 51 Confidential will air sometime during the event.

The porn industry has been releasing erotic parodies of some of the biggest summer films, including "Avatar," "Star Trek," "Batman," and "Superman." And they were all directed by Axel Braun. Now Braun is back with his highly-anticipated porn parody of "Star Wars," called "Star Wars XXX: A Porn Parody," which is set to hit your local porn shops in September. Brian S- First off you've really been cranking out film projects since 2007. How'd you get into acting?

Bill Oberst Jr.- I was a bizarre-looking kid who loved monsters and the other kids made fun of me. I learned a useful equation: "If You Entertain People, They Will Not Hit You." So my whole career has pretty much been about trying to get people not to hit me.

Corbin Bleu I never thought in my lifetime that I would be running a post talking about a horror film starring both Corbin Bleu (High School Musical) and Bill Oberst Jr. (Dismal). The two seem so completely opposite of one another. Corbin Bleu was this cute little kid in High School Musical. Bill Oberst Jr. is a frightening, iconic indie horror film actor of such films as Dismal, Vivid & A Haunting in Salem. The two team up together to star in the new horror themed anthology "Scary or Die".

I have to say when I initially heard about the project, I was expecting something family friendly cause of Corbin's background, but it seems that Scary or Die is the full throttle horror that genre fans crave. On Saturday, June 25, the Second Annual Dead Flesh Feast Horror Film Festival will descend upon Los Angeles. Attendees will be treated to a full menu of feature films and shorts as well as actor and director panels and even a Corey Feldman appearance! The poster (see above) was designed by comic book artist Dennis Willman. The film is directed by Eric Anthony Pereira, who previously did second unit directing on Piranha 3D and various episodes of the TV series House.

The Locals is a 'found footage' movie that takes place in 1987.
