Jessie Buckley was originally cast in the lead role but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. Emma Mackey replaced her.
Filmed between July and August 11, 2023 during the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike without having an interim agreement with the SAG-AFTRA that allowed actors to shoot during the strike. The main actresses are SAG members, and the film was bought by American distributor IFC Films during the strike.
