    Was a great experience

Auctioneers and owner were a ball of energy and kept things real and fun....great experience of what happens at an auction in real time

kind of a fun show but the inaccuracies are to many

Big time scripted show. but what bothers me are the high amount of inaccuracies from their EXPERTS. BTW, anytime there's a side interview, it's scripted. lets see, X and Y are happening, so lets stop filming to get a side interview with them to find out what everyone is thinking. often times the actors are in different cloths. i'm not entirely sure but the the majority of the items they auction i've seen in other reality shows. not much originality but again, the inaccuracies from their experts are the worse, did the writers do their research or are they just winging it? i paid attention in school. it kiinda bothers me that programming like this program shows the world how bad our education system is. perfect example, and not part of this show but a friend of mine, after seeing a program on the HISTORY channel was taught that the British were the only people in history to have long bows. i mean REALLY ? and he believed it because it was on the history channel. take the program for what it is, entertaining but the facts take with a grain of of salt

    likable people

This is a reality-TV show about the auction house Gallery 63 near Atlanta. Paul Brown is the young owner. Cindy Shook is the manager. Jon Hammond is the mover. Delfino Ramos is the handy fixer. People often bring in items or is picked up. Experts appraise the items and is auctioned off.

There are plenty of these types of shows. It gives little factoids about the items. By bringing in the sellers to the auctions, it heightens the drama. More than anything, these types of shows need compelling characters. These are all nice people. There isn't any big conflicts. That does limit the melodrama but it's always nice to relax with a bunch of likable people.

    Too fake.

This show does a decent job trying to hide that it's scripted. They avoid the ridiculous drama and actually try to make it boring instead. I don't even believe the auctions are real. They don't have reserves and never talk about it. Still better than Pawn Stars.

My favorite of these style of shows

This is perhaps one of the only reality-type shows that has come about in the wake of Pawn Stars' success that I really honestly and truly like. It doesn't play to the same horrendously false pretenses of drama that shows like Pawn Stars does (the whole "Oh, in between shifts we have to plan the company party and sound like it was our idea and fail miserably at it"). They might do something goofy like hold a margarita face-off or play a prank, but it ALWAYS has something to do with the items in for auction, and it never feels like they are being forced to say and do those things. They all have great, genuine chemistry between one another - just as you'd hope to have at any job. I actually admire these people like they're neighbors in my own community - not perfect, but kind, awesome people who work hard at what they do and have passion for what they do. It's really refreshing. The only tick mark against this show to bring the show to a 9 out of 10 for me is the pickers from up north Discovery decided to bring to the side. Their presence feels very forced in an otherwise well-executed show, and where the rest of the crew really feel at harmony with one another, these guys just feel like a sour chord, like they really don't want to be there but Discovery is making them. That's really the only flaw. Keep the picking to American Pickers, and just stick to Gallery 63.

    • Trivia
In September 2009, Paul Brown was thinking of closing Gallery 63 when he got a phone call from a production company in Los Angeles. He thought they were trying to sell him something and hung up on them. They called back, let Paul know they were serious and sent him a little flip camera to shoot a day of what it was like working at Gallery 63. He sent it back and two days later they called him wanting to start production of the TV show.
