Storyline
Featured review
I watched the show because it won several awards in Norway and the topic sounded interesting. But honestly, it was quite disappointing. The scenary and costumes are nice, but the plot is incoherent and lackluster.
The premise and historical event itself are fascinating-Norway gaining independence from Sweden, choosing to become a kingdom instead of a republic, and inviting a Danish prince to be their king. His wife, daughter of the King of the United Kingdom, also played a significant role, though her marriage was far less ideal than it appeared.
Unfortunately, these intriguing plotlines are poorly explored in the show. It had so much potential but ultimately fell flat.
I really wouldn't recommend it. If you want to learn about that historical event, you'd be better off just reading the Wikipedia page-it's way more engaging than the show!
