According to producer Alan Hofmanis, the film's budget was $85 (US).

Initially, the blood was real cow blood from a slaughterhouse. After an actor got sick while filming a scene in which he had to spit blood from his mouth, they used food coloring for fake blood.
Majority of the actors in the film are self-taught martial artists who regularly compete in kung-fu tournaments in Uganda.
The original version of the film without the Video Joker commentary was lost when I.G.G. Nabwana deleted it from his hard drive to make room for his second film 'Tebaatusasula'. The non-VJ soundtrack can be found in the AGFA release of Captain Alex.
