I cannot believe I staggered across this utterly obscure gem. I picked it up on DVD from a friend, he gave me the impression the film was 'too disturbing to watch'. The film is set in a bleak Melbourne, seemingly focusing on suburban isolation, mental breakdown and our unquenched desires. The somewhat confusing film follows the main character 'Nick' and his quest to find out who 'The man in the DVD' really is. This film is more of a glimpse into our nightmares than a story of man versus demon. An electrifying movie, definitely worth watching. The shed scene where one of the characters discovers a secret trapdoor is incredible. This movie helps to destroy the myth that all good art is made in the 'inner city'.
