Better than anticipated...

The movie cover brandishes 'epic warfare on the scale of Troy'. While that is, of course, an exaggeration, then the movie was actually surprisingly good.

As I can't claim to be overly familiar with Thai history, so I can't say how true to the movie is to actual history or how well it imitates history. But the storyline in "Edge of the Empire" turned out to be captivating and interesting.

What didn't really work out well in the movie was some of the hairstyles, which were just too modern day hairstyles. And also the acting of Than Thanakorn (played Lampoon) was really poor compared to the rest of the cast, and he really wasn't up to par with the rest.

The action sequences were well executed and filled with fast paced action.

"Edge of the Empire" is well-worth watching.
