This was another Christmas movie that I had never heard about prior to sitting down and watching it. However, I have to say that the movie's cover and synopsis didn't really sell the movie all that well, nor did it come across as being an archetypical Christmas movie. But director Maya Jai Pinson might prove me wrong, and thus I opted to watch "The Christmas Room" as part of my December month of Christmas movie marathon.
The storyline in the movie was rubbish. It was pretty far from being a Christmas movie. It was, if anything, a family drama that deals with onsetting dementia. So if you're looking for a Christmas movie, then "The Christmas Room" is not a movie you should place your bet on. Writers Maya Jai Pinson and Mignon Pinson, with both of them also being in the movie, failed to pen down a script and storyline that entertained me.
Of course I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list in the movie. The acting performances were fair, taking into consideration the level of production of the movie. You're definitely not in for an evening of Shakespearian theater here.
"The Christmas Room" is not a Christmas movie, so I was sorely disappointed with it. And truth be told, I gave up on the ordeal 30 minutes into the 99 minute runtime. And believe me when I say that I am never returning to attempt finish watching this movie.
If you enjoy Christmas movies, then don't waste your time, money or effort on this dumpster fire.
My rating of director Maya Jai Pinson's 2024 movie "The Christmas Room" lands on a one out of ten stars.
