The producers don't even bother trying to find a plausible theory for these shows any more. They've beaten the target audience into submission, so now just spout some random nonsense and jump straight into amateurs ineptly looking for treasure.
This show posits the Aztecs, which to the producers is apparently just an answer they got wrong in history class, hauled their treasure to Utah or Nevada because the land is cheap there and the governments don't require filming permits or SAG-AFTRA cards.
What sets this show apart from other pre-fabricated-treasure-myth shows is instead of one group ruining the environment in one location, as with the Curse of Oak Island, we have three teams operating under three different but equally ludicrous theories trashing three separate locations. The amount of treasure found remains the same - zero - but the format allows for more widespread disruption of the countryside.
The acting is what you'd expect from people attracted to a treasure hunt that would have a better chance of success if conducted in their own backyards.
Three stars for another background noise show. No stars for insulting the memory of the Aztec people with this cockamamie premise. Three stars.

Another treasure hunt show where a bunch of people run around aimlessly without any real facts but instead use delusion to hunt for a treasure that does not exist. Why History Channel wouldnt make a show about the buried steam ship from the Beyond Oak Island episode where at least the audience would get a payoff because the ship is for sure there. There will be no payoff here unless they stage one. Dont waste your life with this.

Finally someone uses this technology to do what it was built for, the show is a nice change from previous shows and looks like it will be entertaining to watch. I have followed the cave Rover project on it's other media platforms and it makes it possible for mankind to explore areas that cannot be explored safety without such a scientific instruments, the days of using a bird to do humans work is over!! A robot cannot die if it comes in contact with conditions that can kill a live breathing animal or human. I hope we get to see more of this technology thought the season!! More of what Chris Dick can offer the exploration community!!
I know all shows are quirky, but this is just fun stuff. Was so interesting of the Cave Rover they introduced by Chris Dick. Such a safe way to explore underground & that it captures all the data too. I have seen some of his other Rover projects & can't wait to see what else that they utilize! I even have one of Chris Dick's Cave Rover magnets on my car door. Can't wait to see the next episode.....
I started watching it, and I couldn't stop. Hoping for a season two. The technology was amazing the series is amazing I can really look in the past and it is interesting, how people look for treasures I only saw that in movies. You also learn a lot, not only about the Aztecs, but also about scenery in the past. You also get interesting ideas how you can build technology from basic scrap. I also liked that it was not like a normal treasure hunt series that usually last a couple of episodes and just end but it is a brilliant and unique on its own, just the scenery and technology is unique. The series has a lot of potential among people who are interested in Aztec treasures.
