A very charming and funny film, but I wouldn't call it a comedy like it says underneath the title. The humor isn't the center piece, its much more than that. I would say the movie is about two totally different people (a ruralite woodsman and a young urbanite film director with his entourage) meeting and through working together helping each other overcome a problem in their respective lives. Just like with many similar contemporary Japanese movies I've enjoyed, there is a certain humanity and warmth and sense of community in this film, which you rarely see in Western cinema these days.
In fact this movie reminded me a bit of another Japanese film, "Wood Job!"
Both of those are very recommended!
