'Broken Sword: Director's Cut (2010)' is a remastered version of the adventure game classic that also adds some new puzzles, story elements and gameplay segments. It also includes a hint system and a 'diary' that outlines what's just happened in case you haven't played for a while. For the most part, it's simply an updated version of the original. The game is a point-and-click adventure that tells the tale of George, an all-American tourist whose curiosity may just get the better of him, and Nico, a to-the-point journalist with a mysterious past and a low tolerance for nonsense, as they become embroiled in a complex plot involving murderous clowns and enigmatic ancient orders. It's a globetrotting narrative that has you solving a number of puzzles, most of which are logical enough to never become frustrating, and meeting a varied cast of colourful characters, whose interactions with the protagonist give the game most of its charm. The thing knows exactly what it is. It's funny, engaging, intriguing and exciting. It has a well-balanced pace and an even tone, calling to mind adventure movies such as 'Raiders Of The Lost Ark (1981)'. It's really entertaining. 8/10
