We have the highlights of what's coming and going from HBO Now and HBO Go in March 2020.
March 2020 is an extremely HBO month for HBO.
What we mean by that is that the list of new releases for the month contain a lot of the hallmarks of the HBO brand that the network has built over the years. There is the third season of an expensive and popular sci-fi series with Westworld season 3 premiering on March 15. Then there's also the requisite new David Simon series when Philip Roth adaptation The Plot Against America premieres on March 16.
If that weren't enough, March 2020 sees the arrival of a big ticket superhero movie with X-Men: Dark Phoenix arriving on March 21. It's not a good big ticket superhero movie, but still! You may want to rewatch it all the same. Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw is a sort of superhero movie itself.

Anna Kendrick has a secret set of very specific skills.
Craig Robinson is spilling the beans about the actress in an interview with People Now alongside Table 19 costars Lisa Kudrow and Wyatt Russell. The comedian reveals that Kendrick uses her smaller-than-average size to her advantage when getting around in crowded spaces.
Robinson says that the two were once at a bar that “was super packed. But she’s tiny so she would use her tininess to maneuver around,” adding that he was impressed when he would see her run around the crowded bar.
Another one of Kendrick’s skills?...

Craig Robinson rose to prominence playing smooth, laid-back guys – soulful warehouse worker Darryl on The Office, romantic crooner Nick in Hot Tub Time Machine, a slightly-tweaked version of himself for This Is the End. But these days, he's nothing but go-go-go hustle. On Friday, he lends his dulcet tones to a foulmouthed, pot-smoking box of grits in the deranged animated comedy Sausage Party. Next week, he switches his style up with an uncharacteristically heavy turn in Morris from America, a coming-of-age indie about an African-American kid living in Germany (and...

We're big fans of Anna Kendrick here at the Playlist. But then, what kind of monster isn't a big fan of Anna Kendrick? She's smart, funny, honest, outspoken and enormously talented, and even the occasional "Rapture-Palooza" can't cause too much of a problem. The actress is wildly busy, with seven movies released, or due for release, this year, from serial killer dark comedy "The Voices" to this Christmas' mega-budget musical "Into The Woods," and will continue her path to world domination with next summer's sequel "Pitch Perfect." But first, she's got another musical, stage adaptation, "The Last Five Years," directed by Richard Lagravenese, and co-starring Broadway star Jeremy Jordan. The film, which deconstructs a love affair between an actress and a novelist, just premiered at Tiff, and we should have our review for you in the next day or two. But to tide you over, EW has the first clip from the movie,...

Though this year’s breakout comedy hit Ride Along was almost entirely the Ice Cube and Kevin Hart show, Universal’s upcoming sequel, Ride Along 2, has been putting together a pretty terrific supporting cast over the past few weeks. First, we heard that 24: Live Another Day actor Benjamin Bratt had come aboard in an unspecified role. Next, Attack of the Show! host and geek goddess Olivia Munn joined the cast, taking on the role of a tough Miami homicide detective who becomes the object of Detective James Payton’s (Cube) affection. Now, we’ve learned that The Hangover and Community star Ken Jeong has hitched a ride on the comedy sequel.
Jeong will play “a cocky computer hacker who fancies himself a ladies man but is also important in solving the case that Cube and Hart are working on.” The part is described as similar to Joe Pesci...

This has been an unusually strong year for star-studded horror comedies, most notably Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant.s Hell Baby, Jacob Vaughn.s Bad Milo, and even Jonathan Levine.s Warm Bodies and Paul Middleditch.s Rapture-Palooza. Hollywood.s biggest and brightest are no longer so wary of starring in flicks that mix scares with the laughter. Xyz Films. What's It About? Austrian filmmaker Michael Haneke tells the heart-wrenching story of an elderly couple fighting against the deterioration of the body and mind in this brutally honest French drama. Georges (Jean-Louis Trintignant) and Anne (Emmanuelle Riva) are retired octogenarian music teachers whose lives vastly alter when Anne suffers from the first of several strokes. Georges struggles to take care of his wife as watches her gradually lose her ability to move and speak.
Why We're In: One of the most powerful films in recent years and winner of the 2012 Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, "Amour" shows love at its most harrowing. Known as a horror master, Haneke uses slow-pacing and raw storytelling in this film to truly show life's real horrors. As if giving birth wasn’t hellish enough, imagine if you were giving birth to the spawn of Satan? Sounds absolutely terrifying, right? Not if Reno 911! creators Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant are writing and directing.
Bringing their own brand of slapstick, “immature” comedy, Lennon and Garant have created a horror comedy in Hell Baby that throws any real terror out the window, but it’s kind of refreshing in a way. Movies like Rapture-Palooza have tried said approach already this year, but faltered thanks to weak interpretations and lame adaptations of horror elements. Hell Baby, while focusing on comedy completely, is still able to properly poke fun at typical horror norms, succeeding not only as a consistently laugh-inducing comedy, but also as a witty horror comedy. Lennon and Garant are in proper form, and I can gladly accept their entry into my favorite genre with opened, appreciative arms.

Riding my rapture high from seeing This Is The End last night, I woke up this morning and decided to check out a lesser-known apocalyptic comedy released this weekend called Rapture-Palooza. Penned by Chris Matheson, the bodacious dude who wrote Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, and directed by Paul Middleditch, I didn’t really know what to expect, but the cast of comedic talent attached settled my nerves before the watch. I mean you’ve got Craig Robinson, Thomas Lennon, Rob Corddry, Ken Jeong, Rob Huebel, Anna Kendrick *drools on keyboard*, and Paul Scheer, so a decent amount of laughs were expected – but unfortunately not achieved.
Rapture-Palooza tells the story of Ben (John Francis Daley) and Lindsey (Anna Kendrick), a young couple just trying to survive God’s rapture. While those rightious enough were granted amnesty from the ordeal by being accepted to heaven, modern day heathens like Ben and...

And certainly the participation of the roster of comedically gifted talents listed above inspires some level of buzzy expectation. New York — The Earth has been coming to an end with comic frequency. We've seen tsunamis sweep the oceans ("2012"), the world freeze over ("The Day After Tomorrow") and a rogue planet bear down ("Melancholia"). So many have been patrolling a desolate Earth – Will Smith ("After Earth"), Tom Cruise ("Oblivion"), a cute cleanup robot ("Wall-e") – that even the post-apocalyptic world is getting crowded.
But now, months after the Mayans predicted the end of the world, comedians are having the last laugh – or at least, a Last Days laugh. Opening Wednesday is Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's "This Is the End," in which the rapture arrives in the midst of a Hollywood party at James Franco's house.
"The World's End" is coming in August and earlier this year, there was "It's a Disaster," where nuclear calamity interrupts a New Orleans couples' brunch. Also just out is the farcical "Rapture-Palooza," in...

If you’re not a fan of Seth Rogen, of his comedies, or of the Judd Apatow Crew, then you can disregard this review. This movie is for those people, and it’s hilarious. It’s not high art (although James Franco might argue that it is), but it’s arguably the most fun experience I’ve had in a theater in a long time (certainly the most time I’ve laughed out loud since… Pineapple Express), and I don’t remember the last time I was so energetic and boisterous walking out of a theater. My friend (your fabled editor) and I kept running through our favorite parts on the car trip home, and quickly figured out that we were just quoting the entire movie. Yeah, we were those annoying guys.
Let’s get to the movie. This Is The End is an apocalypse comedy, tackling the bloating end-of-the-world...

The apocalypse is coming to theaters and on VOD today in the form of Rapture-palooza. Only this time, Craig Robinson, Anna Kendrick, John Francis Daley, Rob Corddry, Paul Scheer, and many more are along for the ride.
Recently, I sat down with stars Rob Corddry and Rob Huebel to talk with them about the film, as well as some other random topics. Check out our little chats about clipping your toenails in Ihop, mustaches, and who the better doctor really is below.
When the Apocalypse actually happens and a billion people are raptured up to heaven, Lindsey (Kendrick) and her boyfriend Ben (Daley) are left behind in suburban Seattle. The young couple try their best to lead a normal life surrounded by talking locusts, blood rain showers, and pot-smoking wraiths. But when the Anti-Christ (Robinson) makes his home base in their neighborhood, Lindsey finds herself the object of his affection.

2013 seems to be the year of end-of-the-world comedies, and while that may be a sure sign of the end times at least we’ll go out laughing. Edgar Wright’s The World’s End opens later this summer, the very funny This Is the End hits theaters next week, and the even better It’s a Disaster was just released on Blu-ray/DVD. It really is a fine time for fans of the apocalypse. The fourth entry (or second if you’re going chronologically) is Paul Middleditch‘s Rapture-Palooza. Lindsey (Anna Kendrick) and Ben (John Francis Daley) are young and in love, but unlike the billion or more young couples that came before them these two are seeing their romance blossom amidst the events foretold in the Book of Revelation. The undead roam the streets, foul-mouthed locusts and crows berate the survivors, and occasionally large, flaming rocks fall from the sky to crush food carts. As...

In This is the End, James Franco and Seth Rogen try to get through the apocalypse with a little help from their famous friends. The world is literally imploding, which really puts a damper on the killer shindig Franco was hosting. Rihanna is there, Mindy Kaling is horny, and Michael Cera is totally out of control. The cast — which also includes Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, Jay Baruchel, Craig Robinson, and Emma Watson — plays caricatures of their own public personas, an experience Rogen, who co-wrote and co-directed with Evan Goldberg, found cathartic. “The studio was a little freaked out by the notion of it,...

"Rapture-Palooza" is a new comedy that takes a light, humorous look at the End of Days. Anna Kendrick and John Francis Daley from "Freak and Geeks" star as a couple just trying to cope with the apocalypse, and things aren't that bad until the Anti-Christ shows up.
In this exclusive clip from "Rapture-Palooza," Kendrick's character, Lindsey, has to make a tough choice. Beast (Craig Robinson) wants to take Lindsey as his bride, and if she resists, he'll kill her boyfriend and his dad (Rob Corddry).
A ton of other funny people make up the rest of the cast, including Ken Jeong, Rob Huebel, and Paul Scheer.
"Rapture-Palooza" will hit theaters and video on-demand on June 7.

Cinemagoers in 2013 are experiencing a veritable (and biblically-appropriate) plague of apocalypse comedies. But only one stars Craig Robinson from The Office as the Anti-Christ — and its name is Rapture-Palooza.
The film — whose cast also includes Anna Kendrick, John Francis Daley, Rob Corddry, and Thomas Lennon — is being unleashed to theaters on June 7 and will also be available on demand. But you can check out an exclusive clip from the movie featuring Kendrick and Daley below.

Are ye prepared for the Rapture?
You know it's the end of all things when it rains blood, zombies crave joints and you're mocked by foul-mouthed cockroaches and crows ("F**k you, caw!" exclaims one of the latter rude creatures). And you know things are really going to hell in a handbasket when the Antichrist appears, taking the form of a piano-playing Craig Robinson in very, very loud purple and yellow suits.
"Rapture-Palooza" chronicles the Apocalypse as seen through the disaffected hipster eyes of Lindsey (Anna Kendrick) and Ben (John Francis Daley), a young couple who might just hold the key to saving what's left of humanity after Beast (that's what the Antichrist likes to call himself) takes a shine to the lovely Lindsey. Can these two fulfill a prophecy that says the Beast will be defeated and locked away for a thousand years? As long as they don't blast...

Because as everyone knows, the easiest way to take down the Anti-Christ is to wear a tight little white dress and seduce him, and when he’s all ready to jump your bones, you knife him in the ass. Or wherever you can get the knife into him. That’s apparently the plan in Paul Middleditch’s “Rapture-Palooza”, which stars Anna Kendrick as the hottie in white and Craig Robinson as the horny Anti-Christ. That kid from the TV show “Bones” plays the boyfriend. Check out a new trailer and poster for the film below. The movie hits theaters and VOD at the same time on June 7, 2013. In case you missed it, a Red Band trailer for the film can be found here. When the Apocalypse actually happens and a billion people are raptured up to heaven, Lindsey (Kendrick) and her boyfriend Ben (Daley) are left behind in suburban Seattle.

The above poster came straight from iTunes Movie Trailers, so we are fairly certain that it wasn.t just the work of a bored teenager wasting his time with Photoshop instead of cleaning his room. Paul Middleditch.s upcoming dark comedy Rapture-Palooza looks absolutely amazing, full of absurdist humor and surreal situations. In a year strangely full of post-apocalyptic comedies . such as the .Seth Rogen .n. Friends. flick This is the End and Edgar Wright.s The World.s End - Rapture-Palooza.s red band trailer put it out in front as far as zany subject matter. So why does this poster read 1992 direct-to-video? I.d try and seriously consider how generic it looks, but it.s kind of impossible, even though I like the way the pitchfork is used as the letter E in .rapture.. Silver linings, if nothing else. Seeing Craig Robinson in anything is a plus, but...

As we saw in the red band trailer for Rapture-palooza, the film seems like an okay time, but where are the good laughs? Maybe they're saving them for the final product? One thing is for sure-- Anna Kendrick is adorable and has an awesome body that a girl like me could certainly be jealous of. Most of you seemed to be at least entertained by the flick from Paul Middleditch, but the attention went mainly to Ms. Kendrick. Well, except for that one unimpressed guy... The poster is the main...

It's a Match Made in Hell in the latest poster for the Rapture-Palooza comedy showing Anna Kendrick and Craig Robinson in front of some hell fire. Robinson is one actor I just can't get sick of, getting me in stitches repeatedly, especially since I loved Hot Tub Time Machine (Rob Corddry's also on board this one). This time around he's playing an Anti-Christ aiming to land Kendrick's character as his bride. Also on board are John Francis Daley, Rob Huebel, Paul Scheer, Thomas Lennon, Ana Gasteyer, John Michael Higgins and Tyler Labine.

Finally, after two separate red-band trailers, an official piece of artwork for Paul Middleditch’s horror comedy Rapture-Palooza has arrived, and given the subject matter, it's painfully generic! Look for the flick from Lionsgate in limited theaters and on VOD platforms June 7th.
Anna Kendrick, John Francis Daley, Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, and Ken Jeong star.
The film is best described as Zombieland meets The Big Lebowski, and in the flick a couple battle their way through a religious apocalypse on a mission to defeat the Antichrist.

Hollywood is ragin’ on the apocalypse at the moment. This year has already seen the effects of the end of the world in the sci-fi bleakscape Oblivion and This Is The End, The World’s End, After Earth and Elysium will bust further blocks later this summer. One flick tackling the same subject that may have escaped your attention however is Rapture-Palooza. Flying low on the cinematic radar, the horror comedy has its first red band trailer online, along with a new poster.

There seems to be a lot of comedies focusing on the Apocalypse these days. This summer, we will get two in the Seth Rogen directed This Is The End and Rapture-palooza. While This Is The End seems to be more of Pineapple Express meets End Of Days, Rapture-palooza looks like a combination of Zombieland meets The Stand. The decidedly odd zombie flick, Warm Bodies, is coming your way on Blu-Ray, DVD, VOD, etc., etc., on June 4th, but there’s an early window opening May 14th for download.
If you caught this one in theaters, there’s a pretty good chance you want to see it again. It’s that kind of film. Even I want to see it again, and I’m rather picky about what I watch more than once. This early window trend is pretty interesting actually, and several other movies have been pushing this recently. Why not get that one last chance to see the film a few weeks before you can pick up the Blu-Ray?
The Blu-Ray looks like a solid release as well, with a lot of bonus features – see full list below. I’m thinking the commentary track will be worth it alone.

Los Angeles, April 19 (Reuters) - The end of the world once again comes to Hollywood's big screens this summer, with movies ranging from big-budget action adventures to indie comedies putting their twist on the apocalypse.
Earth is annihilated after aliens destroy the moon, giant robots battle monsters, and in a comedy take on the biblical rapture, mortals are left behind to deal with atheists and spirits.
"Oblivion," starring Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman, starts the trend on Friday. Made on an estimated budget of $120 million and set in 2077, it follows the last humans as they prepare to find a new home on another planet.
