In the release poster for the movie showing a decaying thumb holding a hand of cards, the hand is black aces and eights, with an unknown 5th card, Known in the poker playing world as, 'The dead mans hand.' This infamous poker hand is attributed to the final set of cards that lawman and old west hero Wild Bill Hickok held when he was assassinated in 1876.
The production was temporarily shut down when the hotel used as both the primary location and housing for the cast and crew was shut down by the fire marshal. The hotel owners had not paid their electric bill and the power was shut off to the hotel.
The comic book only had four main characters in it. The characters of Jensen and Victor were specifically created for the film.
Jensen wasn't gay in an earlier draft of the script.
