An interesting look at what, in this day and age, seems to be a very enlightened view of teaching the developmentally disabled at the St. Christopher's School in Bristol, UK. Made with the assistance of students at the Bath Academy of Arts, the film takes a very hands off approach to the proceedings, letting the visuals and the voices of the children tell the story. Abilities vary widely but each child is worked with both in the school and outside in their group living quarters. Once the children reach 16 they have the potential to reach for independence by taking up residence in Botton Village, where they continue to support themselves to their best abilities.
Simply told but quite effective, it's an easy 48 minute time capsule and should be of interest to many as a historical document and cultural reference point.
