Beginning Friday, March 22, a new 2K restoration of My Heart Is That Eternal Rose, Patrick Tam's underseen and visually daring late-80s action-romance, opens for a one-week NY exclusive theatrical run at Metrograph In Theater.

Tam, perhaps the Hong Kong New Wave's most daring cine-modernist and a crucial influence on Wong Kar-wai, teams with Dp Christopher Doyle, a regular Wong collaborator, for a high-style “heroic bloodshed” melodrama starring Tony Leung Chiu-Wai, Kenny Bee, and Joey Wong as three friends bound together by ties both criminal and romantic. With shamelessly pulpy plotting, a synth-heavy score, luxuriously expressionistic imagery, and a climactic bloodbath for the ages, My Heart is That Eternal Rose exists somewhere at the intersection between Wong's cinema of longing and John Woo's cinema of wrathful vengeance. Neil Young has released a new album called Before and After, out now via Reprise. But instead of writing and recording a batch of new material, the singer-songwriter took a cue from the Taylor Swift playbook, re-recording select songs from throughout his career.

Before and After is described as “a trip into his music history,” with Young having picked some of his own favorite songs from his catalog to re-visit. It’ll mostly be solo acoustic re-recordings, sequenced so its 13 songs blend seamlessly together from front to back.

“The feeling is captured, not in pieces, but as a whole piece — designed to be listened to that way,” Young said in a statement. “This music presentation defies shuffling, digital organization, separation. Only for listening. That says it all.”

Young also co-produced and co-mixed the record, which includes his 1966 debut with Buffalo Springfield “Burned” all the way up to his 2021 tune “Don’t Forget Love.

Jon Batiste has announced the follow-up to his Album of the Year-winning We Are, with an all-star guest list joining the former Late Show bandleader for World Music Radio.

The 20-track album, out August 18 via Verve Records/Interscope Records, sticks to its name by recruiting global talent, including Lil Wayne, Fireboy Dml, Kenny G, J.I.D., NewJeans, Camilo, and on the bonus track “Life Lesson,” Lana Del Rey, who previously recruited Batiste for a pair of tracks on her Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.

Jon Batiste has announced his new album, World Music Radio, out August 18th via Verve Records/Interscope Records. As a preview, he’s also shared the first single, “Calling Your Name.”

Clocking in at 21 tracks, World Music Radio features a wide array of guest appearances from Lil Wayne, Lana Del Rey, Kenny G, Jid, K-pop group NewJeans, and many more. In a statement, Batiste said he created the album with “a feeling of liberation in my life and a renewed sense of exploration of my personhood, my craft and of the world around me unlike anything I had ever felt before.”

In My Heart is one of 15 iconic Moby tracks written or recorded in New York between 1994 – 2010 orchestrally reworked for his recent 20th studio album Resound NYC, released through Deutsche Grammophon.

Stevie Nicks recently announced that she’ll be releasing a complete studio albums and rarities box set on July 28. The career-spanning collection is available as 16Lp and 10Cd sets as well as digitally. There are only 3,000 copies of the 16Lp set that features several albums that are making their vinyl debut, including Street Angel, Trouble in Shangri-La, and In Your Dreams.
