Film is based off three short plays: "Delivery" by Greg North, "What's Included" by Rose Wasielewski, and "Peter Kills Himself" by Frank Anderson. Originally performed on stage at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee in May 2007 as part of the campus festival "Just Shy of Normal." Producer Jason Paul Collum enjoyed the performances, optioned the rights from the student writers, adapted them for the screen and wrote his own wrap around segment "The Author" to tie the stories together. Most of the original lead stage cast re-created their roles for the film.
