Mallika (2010) is an Indian horror movie that I recently watched on Tubi. The storyline follows a young lady who is struggling with nightmares and decides to take a vacation at a resort to hopefully get some much needed rest. Unfortunately for her, her car breaks down on the way and the resort sends someone to scoop her up. She quickly gains the attention of a photographer and model that won't stop taking pictures of her or leave her alone. When she tries to get rest she keeps seeing a woman that looks like her getting murdered. How is it all tied together?
This movie is directed by Wilson Louis (Kaalo) and stars Sammir Dattani (I Hate Luv Stories), Mamik Singh (Bellbottom), Suresh Menon (Kaabil) and Rajesh Khera (Sense8 ).
This movie is bad with some comedic elements that helps the audience tolerate the mediocre content. The main character is gorgeous, the dialogue is funny and the settings are unique and not bad. The horror elements are very uneven - the ghosts scenes and makeup were okay and there were some people thrown that slide wildly across the floor that cracked me up. There's some awkward shower and bathing scenes where characters take them either in lingerie or workout outfits. Fully clothed shower scenes always crack me up and make me cringe at the same time. The camera angles and background music are a bit weird and the ending with the violin also cracked me up.
Overall, this is a movie that isn't worth your time. I would score this a 2.5/10 and recommend skipping it.
